Haha, early April you told me you found this car, but couldn't justify buying it! But I could see love in your eye!
Beautiful car, enjoy!

Thanks Andrew, say I plan to drop by this year for a Rear Performance CF Spoiler purchase install. Question, do yo folks have them in stock or does one preorder? Also, does your shop do the install?
She has only been driven 4,400 Miles since 1992 when she was restored this will now change Quote:

Thanks John, I dropped by your place twice in the past 6 days, you are always away and busy Once before I took the hardtop off and once without the top. You can inspect her when we meet for the factory tour at the end of the month.

Very nice acquisition Rolf-Dieter! As a kid growing up in west coast US, the 280 SL was an absolute two seater design icon. The dash cluster is absolutely brilliant design. I think MB really got it right in those days. I hope you have many enjoyable miles driving it.
Curious about the radio: It looks updated. I was wondering if it's a standard din unit (I hope)?

No the radio is not the original, it is what the last owners wife wanted in order to play her tapes, also it is removable. I do have the original radio (it is a Becker and came with the car), I will have to get it checked out. Have a wonderful summer our date for coffee still stands next time I'm in sunny California That she is ... Thank you! .... I think my ///M3 loves her too ... So far no fights

Yes! By all means, please PM me when you plan to do another of your world famous Grand Tours. I'm sure the updated radio sounds better than the original, but I'm glad you have the original for safe keeping Through the years I've managed to acquire a few older cars American cars. 1950's, '60's and '70's vintage American car radios didn't use the din spec and one of my worst nightmares is dealing with a damaged dashboard after someone changed out the radio, hence my question if radio was a standard din spec size. Seems to me the older european makes typically used the din spec so I'm guessing the dash was not damaged. Live long and Prosper (if you haven't seen it, the latest Trek movie was excellent) Cheers

Rolf, that is simply gorgeous. Ich gratuliere Dir!! I have always had a soft spot for SL's, and this one is spectacular -- I love that blue! In my opinion, no cars other than perhaps Porsche 911's age as well as MB's, and this particular one supports that theory strongly!
