I was looking for a alternative for my rear tire dilemma, since the PSS does not have a 285/30/19. And I noticed that Toyo has the Proxes T1R in a 285/30/19. Has anyone looked at these?

I actually just asked the same thing in another thread. These are very popular in JDM cars but don't seem to be mentioned as often here. Maybe from the fact that Tire rack doesn't carry Toyos.

i think the t1r is comparable to hankook vents v12, it didn't really get any good review any where..

The Toyo Proxie's are discontinued. You have to get lucky to find a set that will fit. Ebay has a bunch.

I couldn't find rears in the size I needed.

I used these tires on my A4. Size 255/35R18. Great in the rain and a generally decent street tire. Sidewalls are a bit stiff. Lasted 8 track days + about 15k street miles.

I now have Bridgestone Potenza RE11's on the same car (same size, same wheels) and they are much stickier, more comfortable, and a little more vague. The T1R's were more fun on the street, since they were more predictable and more manageable at the limit (just what you'd expect from a JDM tire, eh?). T1R's were also pretty inexpensive. They will be missed.

I had a set on my 2004 E46 M3...not a bad tire at all. I had them in a 255/35/19 front and 285/30/19 rear on RAC RG4s. I do think though that they are probably on the lower rung now since this model is almost 10 years old.
