The passenger fender liner definitely has a different shape back there due to the reservoir.
So the tolerances will be slightly different for sure. When you get those 5mm spacers you should try one on that side to see how it changes your turning angle. It make end up in a spot it won't rub but will have to test.

It sure is!

I'll try the spacer in the front but even if that resolves the rubbing issue, but if that works, I'll have other problems: 1) front wheels sticking out bit more which I am not sure I'll like the look of it and 2) I'll need to order another pair of 5mm spacers for the back wheels. Hahaha, no stopping in mods parts orders!

No, just do it for testing. Once you drop the car, the fronts will come out more as you'll have to correct negative camber.

So in this car.. Once you drop, the rears will come in and the fronts will come out. That's just where the camber adjustment is for these cars.

I should have done some more research on the tire sizing because I just found a thread that confirms how 265/40/18 in the fronts won't work with 18x9.5 spec. There seems to be two options: 1) go with 255/40/18s in the front or 2) downsize the front wheels to 18x9 and keep current front tires. In terms of money saving, 2nd option sounds more sensible but I'd have to sell the two front wheels which may be a headache.

Or, with my car sitting at stock height, and if I avoid full turn to right, maybe this won't cause any issues other than wearing out a bit of layer off the fenderwell. With this set-up purchased for winter season, I can ride this out for the next few months and then swap out to another set with correct tire sizes. However, I'm somewhat concerned that the rubbing will wear down the fenderwell and create an opening that will cause further damage to the reservoir area.

Or, I might look for a way to modify the fitting of fenderwell liner and create more clearance.

You can always replace the fender plastic thing once all is said and done.

Also, can you post a link to that thread? I'm curious what the offset consideration is there. Unless it's apex specific which would make sense as their 18x9 offset is likely static.

You're right, replacing it is an option but I just don't want the opening, if created, will cause more issues with the functionality/integrity of the parts behind the plastic lining.

Is it the inner or outer part that is causing the rubbing?

It's the outer edge of the front tire rubbing against the spot shown in the pics. Looks like this happens when the wheel is turned in the right direction. I didn't notice this until this AM and the mark on the lining looks very fresh. I think this started to happen as the suspension settled after installing the wheel (suspension lifted and settled over last few days of driving). Also, I noticed very thin layer of plastic built-up from the tire rubbing against it which I was able to peel off with ease. There is still a good deal of plastic integrity when I pushed against the rubbing spot. I hope it will stop at some point and not completely rub off and create an opening.

I had some holes from that when I ran 265/35/20 on my 20s man those were monster tires that just didn't want to fit in there lol
I also ran this setup with 275 square on the EC7s 18 inch.. no longer rubbed but seems like you're are just making themselves at home and will probably stop soon... if there is a hole in there makes no difference...
won't cause any issues and not a lot of dirt gets in there anyway ...

If you ever decide to upgrade your taillights to LED, here's an alternative to the OEM LCI. I think I a little over $600 for mine and these are priced lower.

Thabks for the compliments! I just received 5 mm spacers for the rear which should make the stance in the rear look more flush.
