Awesome! I'm not exactly from the area. I'm about 2.5 hours south. Any ideas as far as routes/meeting places?

If your drive brings you to the mountains I would like to meet-up with an M3 train. Yesterday here in Highlands I saw a group of mini's- perhaps 20 or more. An M3 gathering is always special and if it is on special roads; count me in.

Yes but not if the drive is in Atlanta, lol. If it's a controlled mountain run, yup!

You guys help me find these special roads! I'm not from Atlanta. I just frequent the area but I'm always around the city and never really get to find the good roads.

Yes, I know many special roads in these mountains. Lived here many decades and always seeking great roads. Let's figure out our meet-up point and the type roads desired. Scenery? Big sweeping curve roads or tighter twisty roads. And yes let's bring along other bimmers if they are able to keep up.

I love big sweeping curves. but tight twisty roads are a good time as well. What area are you thinking? What are some good meeting placings around there?

If we could meet-up in Clayton GA there is a nice route of back roads. From Clayton we could take War Woman RD to Hwy 28 north a few miles to Blue Valley/ Clear Cr. Rd. (1613) which loops back around to 28 then south a few miles to Rich Gap (1710). Here there is about 1 mile of smooth gravel road. To Horse Cove Road (great tight turn switchbacks) into Highlands. From here we take the Waterfall Highway (64W) to Franklin and then Wayah Rd (1310) across the divide to Topton and HWY 74 and into Murphy. This run is about 3-4 hours.

Three Pedal Steve, can you elaborate on smooth gravel road? Is this a gravel road?

The final section of Rich Gap road is an unpaved gravel two lane road. No pot holes or debris but we go slow in this section. It is less than two miles. I took it a few weeks ago in the M3 and there is no clearance issues. I will verify this before bringing a BMW train thru here. I think even ZCP cars will not have issues.

I also have ideas for a lunch spot or picnic areas along the route. I am good with either weekdays or weekends. After June 20th my schedule is booked.

Thank you looking into this. I'm not a fan of gravel roads because, the gravel that lodges in the tires of the car in front of you becomes projectiles that can crack a windshield or chip the paint of the car behind them.
