I Bought the 858 Mile Interlagos EAG Car!
I'm too excited not to share this one where my pure pursuit of passion began, here on M3 Post. In 2014, I started my F80 Journal as an outlet to get out of my comfort zone and share more about my cars and my life. Prior to doing this, I was pretty private and rather introverted. Little did I know that my that journal would be the spring board that completely changed the course of my life.
https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1000683 The anchor of my obsession is the garage, and the most important car for my garage has always been the E92 M3. I'm 41, so of course the E36 was the first out of reach M3 for me. I almost went into debt with the E46 several times in my early 20s, but I never got one. I finally got my first M3, a stripper Le Mans Blue in 2011. The only reason I bought it rather option-less was to keep the price down. I had no idea at the time that version of the car would become the desired spec. I loved...loved...loved that car, probably too much. I don't think I ever got to enjoy it due to it's price and the significant weight of my perfectionism. The only reason I sold it was to acquire my first 911. A few years later, I made my way back to an almost exact copy of my 2011. My friend Mike found a 30-ish thousand mile 2013 stripper Le Mans Blue. The only issue, it had been in some sort of accident where the front and rear bumper covers, hood, and trunk had been repainted. Mike put eyes on the car, and I bought it. I've put all the parts on it that I wished I could have had on my first car. It has really been a great experience the second time around. I think the combination of the car having been blemished in the past plus the fact that the car wasn't a financial burden any more has made it wonderful to own, modify, and perfect. I've kept my eye out for the past few years for a special car that would be a worthy replacement for my dialed in Le Mans. Well...someone commented on my livestream podcast and asked me if I had seen the 858 mile Interlagos car that Enthusiast Auto Group just posted. I responded something to the effect, "That sounds interesting, but it's not Le Mans." https://enthusiastauto.com/bmw/m3ser...-pkg-2858.html A few days later I remembered to go look the car up. I called Evan from EAG asked him how much, then posed an idea. "What if I gave you the E46 back that I just bought that I don't love as a trade for the E92?" It took us about 30 seconds to discuss it, I asked if I could sleep on it, I only made it another couple of hours, I sent him a text, "I'M IN!" So...a week later the car is on its way to me here in FL. I'll be doing a giveaway thing (I hate that it's called that. It's really a: I sell a bunch of stuff through OG to make a pile of cash, then pick a winner.) on my current E92 in February. As I'm sure everyone will want to know, I paid $120,000 for the car and traded my White EAG E46 back to them for what I paid for it. Also FYI, I don't give a crap what anyone thinks, I'm modifying my car in a very similar fashion to my current car. Near perfect list of mods!
As I'm sure you know from your last car, ARH headers are a pain in the ass to install, factoring in the engine mount spacers too…I would seriously consider Bimmerworld headers, as they don't require spacers and don't hang as low. I'm enjoying my set thus far. Really looking forward to seeing the build, and how it compares to your last. |

What a find - congrats on getting your hands on such a low mileage example, especially one that checked most/all your boxes.
No Euro bumper this time around? |

I don’t think you overpaid. How many 858 mile e92 m3’s are out there in your configuration. It’s not like anyone looks back 20 years and says “wow I really changed the course of my life by saving that $40k and buying one for $60-80k”.
You paid what it was worth to you. Congrats and looking forward to the build. |
