Does this sound like plastic or metal?

Here's a new interior noise that I've not heard before. For sure it isn't my belt as it cannot be heard from outside. Just like all other noises, it is almost impossible to pinpoint the exact source other than its vicinity.

The frequency and level increases with revs, so that seems like the vibration from the car is a partial cause.

Thanks in advance.

Check your exhaust heat shields and underbody floor panels. Make sure nothing is loose or missing screws/nuts.
