Is the pulley for the 5/08 and before models already available? I am trying to decide if I should go the route of the Dinan pulley or get a Powerchip or ESS tune...

They have 2 different versions. As to the tune. A tune does more that just add horsepower, including raising the rev limiter, removing the top speed limiter, smoothing out throttle response, etc. If I was doing only one, I'd do the tune first.

i believe it is. i ordered mine today and i have the later date and i was told that if i had the earlier date i would of been fine but bc mine is a later date that one is not in stock.

they are waiting on some parts from Germany for it so mine will be a couple weeks before i get it.

you should be ok though for the earlier model

if i could only do one i would do the software. i did all my mods one at a time. when i put the Dinan software in my car it ran so much better. i was like damn why didn't they tune this like this stock. it took off so much smoother off the bottom and just overall ran alot better. the power wasn't alot but i felt it some. when i added my other parts it all tied in nice together. now with the CAI, Midpipe and muffler and matching software the car rips. i can't wait to put my pulley on and my diff

Dinan is claiming 11hp. Surely this isn't possible from just a pulley.

Are there any genuine dyno plots anywhere on the site for an S65 with pulleys? I can't find any with the search button

It turns out that Dinan is the only manufacturer of a pulley kit that claims ligitimate horsepower gains. Others claim up to 21hp for a less agressive pulley configuration. There is in fact a dyno thread on this site that has the net hp gains depicted. (link below)

lol i have enough for a badge now, i am not into the badge thing to be honest. i just put them in my desk draw and when i sell the car if i sell it with the Dinan package or what not i give it to the new owner and they can put it on.

i just don't like badges in general and i might even de badge my car all togehter just so it makes it more of a sleeper.

it is funny even with the M3 right on it i get people at gas stations who don't know cars that well but know a little about BMW, they will say oh man nice car what is that a 335 with some body kit stuff on it?? i just chuckle and say yeah it is. then when i pull off i wonder if they notice how it sounds nothing like a 335i lol

why isn't this possible?? do you have any technical data to prove your statement???

i love when people just say something like "that can never happen ever" and that is all they will say and never give any info as to why that is so

so please enlighten us as to why a pulley can't produce 11hp

Sorry, but I don't recall making a statement saying that it can't produce 11hp.

I merely asked if it was possible and does anyone have a 'genuine' dyno plot that proves the gain.

Is that a crime?

As for enlightening you as to where I get my info. I have always made my own pulleys and never noticed much of a gain on any of my cars. I was simply enquiring as to whether they work well on an S65

Cpiguy: Thanks for the link. That was just what I was looking for.

this is what you said. i don't know that pretty much seemed to me that is what you were saying. saying surely this isn't possible pretty much sounds like that to me. what you said below in quotes. and in no offense to your pulleys but i guess Dinan was able to make those gains. no crime i was just saying if you say something like that just say where you are coming from on it like you did in your last post thats all
