S65 engine differences

I tried searching but didn't see completely conclusive. I'm looking to swap an s65 into my car that has a blown engine. I'm looking at a couple of different options and wanted to clarify before making a decision. I currently have an 08 manual. My question is are all s65 engines swappable into my car? Any differences in model years that I need to account for? Any differences in the chassis it's coming from (90, 92, 93)? Lastly, does it matter what transmission the engine was mated with? Thanks.

All S65s are the same. Swap flywheels and pilot bearing to match your transmission and you're good to go.

All the same, altho a dct engine is gonna have a different hose on the rear coolant crossover pipe, youll have to replace that with your manual part.

This is the coolant/oil exchanger on the DCT you refer to? Other then for pre heating the DCT, any experience that a failing aux pump would create over heat in the DCT? I'm thinking at stand still without support from the air/oil exchanger, this at least helps keeping the DCT fluid down to 100C.

Yeah that is the line to the heat exchanger, im sure it is possible to delete and leave the heat exchanger capped but I am not sure if it is possible to remove it with the gearbox installed.

Also, operating temp on the coolant for my car is usually about 215-220*F, when driving aggressively the temperature rises rapidly on coolant, I have considered removing this before and letting the transmission utltilize soley the oil cooler circuit but I am not sure of any consequences with warmup of the gearbox. Having the heat exchanger is why the gearbox temperature rises when starting at idle so I am sure it serves a purpose.

I'm trying to identify where my occasional DCT over heat code comes from and as I have a code on the aux pump coming and going Im having this long shot idea that this could be the issue. DCT code typically comes in stand still/slow traffic. Hence my wonder here.

Rod bearings in 2008-2010 are copper; bearings in >2011 are aluminum.

Not guaranteed. My 2011 had copper bearings.

A couple of accessory changes are Lines and Oil cooler on 08's changed around May production iirc. Power steering pump and belt routing also changed at the same time. Shouldn't effect a swap if you keep your original accessories on either item.

Possible since both cooling systems do interact.

Interesting, perhaps 2011.5+? Mines a August 2011 build and it had aluminum bearings.

Mid calendar year 2010 was the changeover.

Last batch of copper bearings were 04-05/2010 builds of MY 2011.
