FCP EURO changes their "lifetime replacement warranty" policy

Discuss

All Lifetime Replacement Guarantee refunds will be issued as store credit
On orders placed before 11/01/2022, the original Lifetime Replacement Guarantee policy will still be in effect. Those returns will default to credit but can be converted to cash refunds on request by emailing service@fcpeuro.com
Refunds will be for the price of the original part purchased
Example 1: You purchased brake pads for $50.00 in 2020. Those same brake pads now cost $55.00. You will be credited $50 at the time of completion.
Example 2: You purchased an oil change kit for $60.00 in 2020. That same oil change kit now costs $48.00. You will be credited $60 at the time of completion.
As we grow, we’re rapidly increasing the number of parts we stock. Not only does this allow you to receive your parts faster than ever, but we’re also able to offer you the most competitive prices possible.

In addition to these small updates to the policy, we will be implementing changes in how the program is monitored and how future updates are addressed to continue to maintain its availability. If you regularly follow the guidelines on lifetime.fcpeuro.com, the process should remain similar for you.

https://blog.fcpeuro.com/fcp-euro-li...arantee-update
Basically inflation...

You purchased rotors for $400 3 years ago. You could have gotten them for $300 elsewhere. Now they are $650. Want a replacement? You pay the difference ($250) plus return shipping and you get back $400 in store credit.

Are you going to stay loyal to FCP or will you shop elsewhere now?

Damn... I think it's fair to credit the original purchase price and I top up the difference. But what am I gonna do with so much store credit?

Fair imo.

Surprised it has lasted this long completely in tact. Hopefully they don't gut the program, I've been a huge fan and long time supporter of FCP.

I honestly have not done any return before, but mostly in for them being one of the cheaper and trust worthy vender. We will see how the number plays out. They'd lost me if they hike the price too crazy

i used it recently, bought a $100 item, was $176 this time around, they refunded me $176. pre changes. they couldve just given me back $100 only and i wouldve been fine with it.

Bummer but I get it. Just got a e92 and thought I would use them for some larger maintenance needs but know I don't know. I'm always late to the party.

What's the problem? Only getting store credit or the price adjustment based on replacement?

Still getting them though, just have store credit to use for the subsequent changes. Not sure what everyone is up in air about.

If they want to change it up thats their prerogative but I think they should honor it for prior orders and apply the new policy to new orders. Most of my parts i could have bought cheaper elsewhere but paid a premium to have the lifetime warranty as outlined when i bought the part.

That's exactly what they've done? Anything before 11/1/22 is eligible for cash refund or store credit.

They way they've written it, you then wouldn't get a refund the next time you replace the part (let's say annual oil change), after 11/1/22. I'm talking about the second, or more, replacement, not the first purchase.

They should always honor a cssh refund on a replacement part for an original purchase that was before 11/1/22, but that's not how they've written it.

That's what we were promised and why a lot of us spent extra with them (me, since 2014, thousands $)

So because you paid $10 more than other options, you're frustrated that future replacements will be store credit vs cash?

$10? Way more than that.

I'm bothered I got the bait and switch, yes.

It's interesting seeing the responses here, and on other forums. I'd wager that those who are deriding us for having an issue with this broken promise, are people who haven't spent that much $ with FCPeuro.

If a shop or BMW dealership broke a contract/terms of sale, you'd see posters raising hell. Yet, in this instance, those of us who are upset are considered to be fools for believing FCP's terms of sale? Or we're fools for worrying about $10 (that's actually hundreds for some of us)?

Note the 6 + pages of orders. So yes thousands of dollars spent here.

I fully can appreciate using their service and paying the premium to benefit from their lifetime warranty. I'm not one for the oil changes but I don't knock anyone for it. They're explicitly offering it, so do it!

I'm just not going to complain or pretend it's a bait and switch when their still the only ones in the industry offering anything like this program.

So yeah, whining about this is embarrassing.

EDIT: added it up $4,549.49

broke boiz want the cash for other stuff.

note: all the major stuff that can break and will brake in who knows when... ill buy from FCP, knowing ill beat the pulp out of my car as well as other track guys.

the one thing i dont use is the oil stuff, since i have an account with motul.

out side of that, the people who are upset like i said, are usually the ones strap for cash or just abusing it, so the fact they were able to get nearly 100% of their cash back was honestly the main reason, and no one can say other wise. cause it's true. but lets be honest, it's not just the BMW crowd, it's what ever manufacture they supply to also.

Yeah it is the broke boiz who have 3-4 M cars parked in their garage. We are definitely the ones strapped for cash and need an $80 refund for an oil change kit.

How about we are upset because we spent thousands of dollars more than we should have on parts for the 3-4 cars..... all over a false promise?

That's because a guarantee is only as good as the person writing it, I could take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed... lol.
