H & R Lowering springs?
I have a comp pack car with EDC and want to lower it a bit to get a really clean fitment, nothing too crazy.
It looks like a lot of the coil overs for EDC cars are crazy money because of the package. Personally, I can't justify the price of these quality coilovers for an inch of lowering--it just doesn't seem worth it to me. I have seen BC coilovers for EDC vehicles for a good price but I'm not sure how good they are (Part number I-13E-BR). All the other ones I've seen for EDC are upwards of $3,000. The other option that I'm juggling is lowering springs. Does anyone have experience with good ones? I've been looking at H&R. If they make the ride feel cheap then I'd rather go with coilovers. I've just never used lowering springs so I'm not sure. Thanks! |

I installed H&R sport springs on my e93. The quality of the ride was improved and I did think handling was better at that lower stance. It looked good at first but my gripe with H&R was that they sagged over time and the top of the rear tires disappeared into the wheel well and it looked a little ghetto.

There are 2 versions of H&R as I recall. I bought the minder ones and the ride was pretty firm and the car a little lower than I think is practical for poor road driving. Suspension travel is lost but there are ways to compensate, such as Bilstein B8, shaved guides and E36 bump stops. Coilovers preserve suspension travel, but there are good ones and not so good ones, as well as sleeve over conversions for stock struts.
