Woohoo! I've sent in my forms for the Glen. Turns out that i've got more than enough life left in my 20" tires to attend

Did Joe from Phoenix CMR change him email address since last year? I sent in my application form two days ago and have not heard back. Someone please PM me the best way to reach him - I'm getting worried.

Trying to plan an interesting route to Watkins Glen next Sunday. Any suggestions on fun roads to get me there and back? Realize I likely will have to sit on the I-90 for a little while but hopefully not too long...

Been looking over http://www.motorcycleroads.us/states/ny.html and there seems to be some good roads near Watkins Glen.

Also, if any of you heading to Watkins Glen on Sunday feel like joining me on my "fun" route, let me know!

Only C9 was resuraced,C11 had a big concrete patch that was still curing so there was a tire chicane that was placed on the outside of the entry which was a non issue.New paint on the curbs which we did the best to make black once again

Indeed, a very good trip, had a blast driving the track, it is very fast yet twisty in places unlike Mosport.

Found some very entertaining roads on my way home so next time we go, my "fun" route will be even better!

The Glen was awesome, it had something for everyone! Got to see some cool cars and a whole bunch of nice driving. It was great to see our friends from Quebec, and folks from all over the US.

I was a lot more comfortable with the car coming into this event, and was able to push the car much harder. I went from a best lap of 2:37 from the prior event to a best lap of 2:23.9. This video is from my second session, where I ran a couple laps in the 2:24.x range (still a ways off from the mid-teens that good 911 - and M3 - drivers run).

Watching the video though, I'm still turning in a bit too early in 1, not pushing hard enough up the esses, and braking too early in 7,8,9. And I still got to work on my shifting (went into 6th instead of 4th a couple times out of the bus stop).

Corner 1 you can use the rumble strips on the inside without upsetting the car.Going fast through the Esses onto the straight is something you have to build up to,Use a lot more of the turtles & curbing in the bustop and you will be a lot faster through there.I use 4th through there now and carry enough speed that I need light braking in 5 to get the car to turn tighter.Overall not bad at all just need a little more aggression with the throttle & brakes.

LOL. Wasn't there a little conversation about this during the instructor's meeting? I seem to remember a certain someone teaching a number 82 some new tricks, and his actual instructor taking the flak for you.

The difference is that I keep the car going straight on the exit and in control carrying a lot of speed Yes it was quite funny in the instructors meeting with Jay being questioned about his students behaviour and then turning around and blaming me for showing him the line during his ride with meWe all had a laugh over that one.

This is some great time - you are definitely getting more comfortable with the car. You are much closer to me than in Calabogie.

When comparing your time to those you see on the internet please do not forget that we were running an "advanced" configuration of the track. I think the loss of exit speed to the front straight from those cones is worth at least over a second, maybe two.

This is true, but this "advanced" configuration clearly favoured a 991S......

This is true. Our class instructor Ed, mentioned that it could cause a reduction in lap times of 2-4 seconds depending on the car.

This is also true. The advanced configuration required a well engineered car. Rumor has it some vettes would have their spark plug wires jump out in protest to the tighter turning radius

LOl, that's too funny! When was this meeting, during the second day?

I was definitely faster after my ride with you, so your "tricks" do work.. guessing they are not the safest lines and that's why the trouble for Jay? Sorry Jay... didn't mean to get you in trouble.

Yep 2nd day instructors meeting. We need the video that shows how you got me black flagged Those lines are safe, just the fact that you should not look like you are not in control when you are doing it.
