Painting carbon bits

Has anyone tried painting a gloss-carbon lip/splitter? Looking to achieve a matte black finish, similar to that of the splitter found on the M3 GTS. Thinking plain old black paint might do the trick, but any input is helpful

Maybe a good project for plastidip for easy touch ups?
