My journey to Bimmerfest!

As some of you may know I moved to San Francisco a few months ago from the UK. Well, being in California and not attending the annual Bimmerfest event in LA seemed to be an opportunity not to be missed. So, with kids and wife in tow we set off on the nearly 400 mile journey south.

My car is a fully loaded mineral white M3 coupe with competition pack and DCT. This was the longest journey I have ever done and was a little worried how the journey would be for us all but it ended up being pretty epic. The roads were largely uneventful, flat and straight. However, some of them were amazing.

Well, as for the Bimmerfest event. I couldn't quite believe the scale of the thing, there must have been at least a couple thousand cars that turned up- all ages and ranges. My car with its splitters, spoiler, eisenmann race exhaust was very low key compared to the M's that had driven from around the country to be there! BMW itself was there showcasing a lot of the new machinery, all the major tuners/mod companies/exhaust etc were there e.g. ess, ind, akrpaovic etc. There were also some very 'pimp my ride' mods- M5's with 23" wheels, all manner of wraps....crazy stuff.

Would I go again? Absolutely. The car on the journey there and back was faultless, really enjoyed the drive, although the M5/6 probably would have been more comfortable! Anyway, enough of my talking here are some pics in chronological order! Enjoy

Very nice. For a more eventful drive I bet taking PCH down would be unbelievable.

I wish my son liked his car seat. We just couldnt fathom driving 10+ hours with him screaming the entire time. Maybe next year when he is older and not rear facing it will be better.

Looks like it was totally worth it for you!
