Windscreen, oem or aftermarket

Hi All,
I got a quote for a non-gen aftermarket windscreen and it was 1/4 of the cost of a genuine bmw replacement.
Has anyone here gone with an aftermarket cheaper windscreen and been quite satisfied? Keen to hear thoughts on quality differences.

Not for this platform but I’ve had awful experiences with non-oem glass on my E60 and Tacoma (warped, too thick, uneven edges). Really push for the oem glass or at least a reputable aftermarket (ie Pilkington).

Save up and buy the OEM real deal. I promise you it won't disappoint.

It's engineered to stop the vortex effect and blowback through the backseat and into the front.

Broke down and bought one last year and doing 65 mph can have a normal conversation and never miss a beat, it's amazing.

Genuine OEM BMW branded - do not get aftermarket.

As others have stated, not on this platform - the cheap-ass stuff (made in China) is no Bueno.

If it has the genuine BMW branded mark - yes, it will cost much more, but fitment and all-around engineering are better.

And for those that will counter - even if the OEM IS made itself in China, it's done so under much more stringent QC and specifications......but I think the OEM BMW glass is made in Slovakia or Estonia..

Cheers,
Merlin

Yes go OEM, I have a replacement OEM one in my M3, good fit, no leaks etc and you couldn't even tell it was ever replaced.

Thank you for your input everyone. I will go the oem route - but might have to wait until my wallet allows me.
