Question for DCT connoisseurs

Is there a way to know if a 2013 e92 has a DCT tune or not?

I read that the way the car starts (D or S and how many bars) can indicate it, but I was not able to find a concrete answer after a quite long search in different threads.

I know that the Alpine DCT GTS tune goes into D2

I think most DCT flashes start you in drive when you first get in. I know mine does not have a tune (confirmed with the shop that the PO brought it to), and it starts in manual mode.

Absolutely this. The Euro DCT software always starts in D2, whereas the USA software starts in S3.

The GTS tune, which is what all the aftermarket tunes seem to be based off of is Euro software, and as such it will always start in D2.

So if you car is a USA spec car and it starts in D2, the transmission has been tuned.
