Is this exhaust the Magnaflow Race exhaust (sold exclisively by Bimmerworld)? If so, I think someone measured the exhaust gain to be 18HP in this thread.

Though this is a little hard to believe, this would be THE catback exhaust that gives the most HP gain, not to mention for least $$ as well.

An 18HP gain should be able to be felt by the butt dyno. So, any truth to this 18HP claim?

Can someone that has this with all other factory pipes (cats, xpipe) speak to cold-start volume? Drone? Would you be comfortable taking this on a few hundred mile trip?

My car is a DD and I'm not looking to make any enemies, but if it's tolerable I may be willing to deal.

So it is catless x-pipe and the BW race exhaust? Sounds pretty quiet to what i expected. I mean, its basically straight piped exhaust, no? I am running catless x-pipe with stock rear and it already sounds good, cant imagine what its going to sound like with this thing. I wish it had 4 exhaust tips though

The Macht Shnell X pipe has resonators in it so yes it’s all straight, the resonators keeps it down a bit. But under WOT it screams

Anyway to make it have 4 exhaust tips? Also, do you have any outside videos?

(bringing an old thread back from the dead...)

nicksm3 - so the BW race exhaust rear section with a catless but resonated x-pipe passed sound at LRP, without any special measures?

I'm thinking about switching to this rear section (from an Akrapovic) to go with my BW resonated/catless x-pipe but trying to find out whether I'm going to need to engineer something to make sound at LRP / Club Motorsport / Tremblant. Thanks!

I do pass sound at LRP but by a hair. If I didn't have the resonated X pipe then no.
Aside from that, best setup by far in my eyes and very cost effective and light weight.

Excellent - thanks for the reply. Was thinking I'd either figure out some kind of clamp on turndown exhaust tip insert or have some V-band clamps welded in behind the tips so I can swap them out for turndown tips for a few db savings.

Yeah, it seems it weighs about as much as my titanium exhaust but flows better and I'll have a chunk of change left over after the sale proceeds to spend on other parts....

Full Bimmerworld race setup. Definitely sounds "racier" than my previous setup of a Gintani x-pipe with high flow cats and Corsa rear section. The volume doesn't translate well from this vid - it is definitely very loud. Full pull starts around 0:30.

4th. He was warming the tires up - they were slipping on the first few attempts. It was starting to cool off outside by then & I didn't have much of a chance to get some heat in the tires prior.

I bought it a couple years ago, but ended up just using the connecting pipes for more free flow between ESS x-pipe and factory muffler. A total hack, but it was fun and challenging to design and implement.

STill have the Magnaflow bullet mufflers lying around with all hardware. They are ultra lightweight, but obviously need to be welded onto some other connecting pipes.
