How do you remove the fuel breather hose from the tank side?

I want to remove the fuel breather hose to get better access to valve cover but I'm having hell of a time removing it. If there's any tip to removing this, I'd like to hear it! Pic of what I am talking about below. Funny, I had no problem removing from the actual breather side which everyone has issues with. Can I spray some WD 40 on it to help?

Try pinching and pushing it on a little harder to loosen it up, then pull.

I'll try. Any concern with spreading wd40? Since it's just air passing through it, in housing that's fine ..

push both pipes together, then squeeze the tabs, then firmly pull them apart.

I believe you need to push it in, then squeeze the ridges and then pull out.
