brake pedal feel after brake fluid change

I post this question here because I figure the track guys are the ones who bleed/flush their brake fluids the most frequently.

I flushed my brake fluid this weekend, and for the first time, I'm using a different brake fluid...I went from ATE to Castrol SRF.

And I swear the brake pedal feel is different. I can't describe it, but it feels different to me.

Is this something that others have felt...ie different pedal feel because of different brake fluids....or is it just in my head....a MAJOR possibility.

I have thought pedal feel seems different even when switching to same fluid. Think it has to do with how perfect the bleed is as far as air but unsure.

It kinda depends on how you flush it too. If you do the 2 person method, be sure not to push the pedal to the floor.

glad to hear that I'm not the only person who may be a little bit suggestible.

I'm pretty sure it's not air.

I used a pressure bleeder, and was meticulous with regards to air.

And the pedal is not mushy in anyway...just different.

Pardon my ignorance, but why not to the floor?

Far too much pressure is generated. You can damage the master cylinder.

If you use the manual method - put a piece of 2X4 under the pedal.
