I thought you were looking for the E9X part #.

I am... I have both. Was just updating my profile. 2011 M3 is what I need the cabin filters for.

Thanks

Thanks for the DIY OP. Thread Bump!

I purchased these MANN filters and installed them today. They do not fit well and do not seal on the short ends.

Mine were sized a bit long, and when installed the paper edge would buckle to fit (sometimes at the end, sometimes near the middle).

The short ends create no seal at all. Air can just blow by.

I will pay for OEM next time, if only to have a fully functional part.

You should return them to Amazon if you don't like them.

Thought about it. They are just cabin filters, not like as critical as an engine filter or anything. I will just keep these in until next major service.

This was my impression too. I won't be buying again, I sealed the edges with blue tape but I don't want crap fitment even at a steep discount, if I wanted that I'd just do the Burger filters, which I might still do actually, because racecarstreetcar weight savings!

Why not? Don't you have an adjustable clutch driver. I can guarantee that if using the right power tool set to the right settings, it won't break anything. How do you think BMW installs the screws?

I just ordered them to replace my broken covers.

Now I want to know where you got these for that price! I've been looking and I have not been able to find them that cheap.

the part numbers I listed were just for the plastic cover that goes over the air filter box. I believe I ordered them from a BMW dealer out of Atlanta online. I will try and locate them for you. Let me take a look around.

My apologies. It seems the price is now listed around $50 to $60 each.
My reference was RealOEM which currently lists them for

04 Housing, microfilter top section, left 1 64316958815 $22.14 +core
05 Housing, microfilter top section, right 1 64316958816 $22.14 +core

Appears pricing has changed some and has a core charge attached.

I do not believe I paid 50 bucks each, but I could be wrong. It's been around a year I think. I replaced both sides.

My online sources are all listing 50-60 dollar range now for them, sorry.

Yeah that's about what I'm seeing them for at various sites.
That's too bad. I was hoping for a really good deal.

They (mann) must not have very consistent manufacturing methods because mine were really snug.

I'm sure they have a +/- pleat count and height required when making this PN as well as a trim width tolerance.

We make filters for a living so I know a bit about filter media, process etc.
MANN is actually a competitor to us as well as a customer (private label).
