Unfortunately most of the masses are obessed with HP and not weight. Hope they figure out a balance soon cars in general are far too heavy.

Not really, cars targeted towards the car enthusists (but unfortunately most often than not they are the higher end models) are getting their weight in check. The current, V8 in the M3 is a good example. It is unfortunate that some manufacturers such as AMG are more obssesed with raw power that getting fit. But as long as there are light weight options for me, I'm fine with that. The rest of the non-car-enthusists can indulge in their heavy SUV all they want.

I don't think that color will look good on the E9x's Now on the previous M's it was by far the most amazing color released on that vehicle! I saw a indiviual m3 once with LSB both interior and exterior and it looks absolutely fantastic!

I dont really have the time to be dealing with these issues, and have considered getting something else as my DD and then a more focused sports car for the fun times because of them. When I have to be at the hopsital, and I am walking to my brand new 70K car wondering if it will start, there is a problem. |

They are obsessed with HP over weight due to their ignorance. hell, I am considering a Lotus Exige S to replace the M, and a boring reliable car as my DD. Tell me you could pull away from a Lotus Exige S or an Exige S 240R in an M3 on a track...

^^ Sure, it's Exige > M3 for the track, but M3 >>>>>>>> Exige for a DD. For people who plan to use the car as a DD but also occasionally track, I'd think an M3 would be a fine choice.

I also thought the M3 would be a fine choice, it is a wonderful car. I bought it just for that purpose. How amazing an idea is it to have one car that can be driven year round, daily, be fun to drive, comfortable and yet still able to tear it up on an occasional track day?
unfortunately, the reality has been that it is not as reliable as I would like and I do not have the time to deal with even the little things that do not prevent it from being driven, but are very annoying, and should not be happening on a fully developed 74K (with taxes) BMW. I still drive it, and I still love it. When it starts up and I can hear and feel that engine idling, and give it some gas to listen to it burbling back down to idle, it gets in my blood, and makes me want to go driving just to listen to it. All I am saying is that if I am going to have this car for a while, these issues had better be resolved by BMW forthwith. |
