Making progress with trainer and getting better flexibility and engagement in my legs. First squat day today in long time went great.

Awesome!

I'm in a deload week...so nothing worth writing about. Did set some new 1RM's in my last progression, so they will be worked into my upcoming programming!

One more month in a deficit then heading to maintenance, followed by reverse dieting.

Cannot wait to eat some damn FOOD!

LOL....Been there and done that so many times...I feel your pain.

Now I try to stay within 10-15lbs of my "wanted look" so when I do have to diet...it's only 4-6 weeks or so to be beach ready.

Ha! Yup. I recently read Layne Norton's "Fat Loss Forever" and followed the protocols in there to a T.

I am down to 182 from ~205. Was previously at 198-205 for at least a couple years so it felt good to trim down and see some of the hypertrophy gains from the last couple years.

Heading to Bald Head Island, NC with my family in a month and I plan to be "Shredded like a Julienne salad"

Heavy weights are great, but what gives me even more power - is inversion table. And it's great when you have some free-to-use inversion tables in the nearest park to you. (like these: https://cozyhousetoday.com/best-inve...s-buyers-guide), so anyone can simply spend 15-20 minutes per day and go outside to stretch their muscles and strengthen body by doing different exercises on it.

Hey Guys, sry been mia....busy with wifey, kiddo and work. Still training of course.

So interesting training note. Did conventional DLs (heavy) yesterday. Havenít done that in at least a year. Wanted to see where I was with them. To my surprise working sets of 3x3 at 435. Afterward I could definitely feel it, low back and my CNS. Way more then Sumo.

I followed that up with Back Squats today. Risky since I was smoked from yesterday but I said fuck it. Carefully built up to 3x3 working sets at 395. Did not want to over do it. So now Iím totally smoked and tomorrow will be Active recovery Assult bike or swimming.

Hope you all are killing it!

That could go either way Chris. Sometimes your body will appreciate a break from heavy lifting. A lot is mental. Iím sure you didnít lose much strength. Even if you did it will come back fast.

Not sure I'm trying to get it back. Goals have changed for now. Havent done any deads to speak of or bench squat but weight hasnt been heavy. No low rep ranges on anything really like I am used to. 10s about minimum usually higher 12-15 sometimes as high as 40.

Change is good, and having new goals will definitely put a different spin on your training. Heavy training on big compound movements at our age is rough. Which is why I am very careful with my programming, rest and recovery.

I give you credit for switching it up, a lot of guys will not do that. They will just keep beating their heads against the wall. Keep us posted. Good luck brotha!

Honestly the squat of 10 reps at 275 little while ago at the point in my workout it was done was more impressive than my 405 squat for 1 rep. I got to 6 and was done and did 4 more. Was different kind of heart.
