exactly....yesterday, the 800# automated system stated date of completion as 1/10/2011, today the automated system stated 12/21/2010...in any case, I highly doubt my car will be out of the factory by the 18th...

the port does not close for 3 weeks tho right...just the factory.....

I'll be happy if my car gets to port of exit by week 3 rather than starting production in week 3 like I was originally told...I'm thinking port won't be too long of a wait the first few weeks of January...

Well I think you need to find out 2 things from your CA.

1. Was your car part of the dealers Dec 2010 production slot alocation. This will be very important to know and kind of dictates how everything else unfolds.
2. Does your car have a VIN number yet?

If you car doesn't make it into the body shop today or tomorrow I just dont know how it will finish this week.

I don't expect it to finish this week, again, I'm just happy I started production now and not week 3...that means early to mid feb rather than late feb/early march, as someone chimed in with earlier, and did make sense since I originally had a date of completion of 1/22/2011

no it was not a dec slot, I do know my CA was trying to get my build date pushed up due to my current endeavors with him and my order/s, looks like he did make that happen. Both the 800# and my friend that works at the BMW SC plant have confirmed it's in production....

not sure about a VIN, I've been following the prod# only...

I'm planning on speaking with my CA later today to get a vehicle inquiry report..

anything else?

You never know Gene! I found the automated system, while better than the website, still left something to be desired. Just for fun, call your CA and have him take a look in their system. No promises but you still might get lucky!

AFAIK the port has been pretty backed up now for a couple of weeks...that's the cause for the delay..

member M3M3CAR posted this today in another thread..

FYI:

Since I wasn't getting anywhere with my CA or BMW NA at the 800 number, I called and spoke to a manage at Wallenius Wilhelmsen to see why my car hasn't moved in 10+ days.

What I found out is that there currently is a major labor union strike and dispute going on at the Germany Bremerhaven port. Combine that with the holidays and many of the workers are just not showing up for work. I was told that they are operating at about 70 - 80% staffing even on the best of days for the past few weeks..

So truth be told, until the holidays and this labor union dispute is resolved, it throws all shipment from Bremerhaven into limbo."
