looks great.
where did you get the grey cluster gauge faces?

I drove it to a cars show at a local mall. On the way home I stopped at a Sunoco.

This Sunoco happened to have a 100 octane pump. I put $20 in 100 octane gas in my half empty tank (roughly 2-3 gallons)

The butt dyno could tell a difference. Not much in noticing performance but the deceleration barks from the exhaust were definitely noticeably louder.

I felt nothing different on the performance front, but the decel bark.

My car usually barks and I kind of hear it burbble on itself once. With this 100 octane it seemed to burrble once then a smaller second burrble.

The only other time this happened was when I used an octane booster, so besides sound for me more octane does nothing.

An evening wash. Was hoping to get around to detailing the engine bay this weekend but too much going on and ran out of daylight.

Best part about these is they don’t show a redline of 8250

Washed, waxes, garaged. I'm looking forward to the first week of 80 degree weather (down from high 90s/100s) in over a month.

Those look great! Where did you get them from and do you know if they can make a set of grey face gauges for the X5M? Thanks.

This bothered me ENDLESSLY ever since I first saw a M3 cluster over a decade ago. BMW's cheapness in reluctance to make a 8400 RPM redline tachometer is such a small detail that drove me nuts. Thankfully, Venoxy can make whatever you desire and I had mine cut to 8600 based on the tune I am running, and then modified the adjustable redline to match

Polished/cleaned the exhaust after finally adjusting it to fit properly. Getting the exhaust just right was a damn nightmare.

Installed MS studs and project kics r40 iconic.

Weirdest thing happened. Got gas, while waiting in the border line up, car revved up slightly went back to normal and then a few seconds later went into neutral and turned off.

Scanned the car, no codes? I'm hoping it's the battery issue. Picking one up later in the afternoon today. That's the first time that's happened. No warnings on dash, car started up no problem either.

Swapped out the motor mounts and transmission mounts (they weren't too bad, but stiffer than new) You can see the motor mounts we're collapsed quite a bit! The car drives beautifully, much more smooth, shifts are easier (6MT) and actually a little quieter overall.

2009 with 86,000 miles.

Put a deposit on my BE rod bearings with SSR Performance!

Also replaced spark plugs for (possibly) the first time at 64k miles, as well as engine & cabin air filters. Throttle is nice and crisp now.
