hey man, sorry it's not working for you.. esp since it seems like it has for most others

try the secure messaging center, that has worked for me in the past. send to membership rewards/program definitions.

promo is only for this card, not green card.

ha! called them again and it worked.

the lady read the notes and asked why i previously asked for 6939. i said someone told me that 6661 does not work anymore. she said it still works fine, but the offer has expired, however, they are still allowed to apply it to the account.

she said if it does not show up on my account later, i will need to call and they will fix it for me.

Congrats! You were probably about to kill someone if it didn't work.

you didn't mention a bonus code?

I got a request to do a survey regarding my phone conversation with them and I rated them extremely poorly.

I was noted that a AMEX Rep would contact me to assist me in resolving this matter.
Hopefully this rep will be able to help me out.

I've had the card for a week and used it on virtually everything... I'm sitting at $790 through today. Apparently it should add 10k automatically when you hit $1,000 then you have to call to remind them to add the other 65k which will take 6 weeks to hit the account. Pretty insane to have to wait 6 weeks for points to post in the digital age. Hell, even checks now clear instantaneously.

I think they just say that to cover their butts.. I had the points post on my platinum card pretty much immediately after contacting them.

Going through a nightmare with membership rewards department. They have documentation "notes" on the account that verifies the 75,000 offer extended to me, but still will not apply the points. All because one representative noted in the account that I was not directly solicited to. I filed a complaint with the BBB and the Amex complaints department. Worst customer service in the world. I advise to you not to waste your time.

keep us posted. How do you know there was a problem already? As it would have taken 6 weeks to post?

I'm really tempted to send myself a grand via paypal to expedite this process at this point.

Let me know as I'll be doing the same as you if they deny it.

I think they should be thrilled at the response to this thing. I mean, they were directly soliciting through the mail (which costs them money) to try and gain customers. This thing went "viral" and they gained a shit-load of customers at a fraction of the cost of unsolicited mailers just by word of mouth. It's a charge card to boot so if any of the new customers do not pay they can collect huge amounts of interest and not have to honor any type of point redemptions. The odds of those people filing for bankruptcy for this one card are slim so they will get that additional interest. I can't imagine a scenario where this is bad for them.

No annual fee for the first year, then $175/yr.

and I'm sure a lot of people will forget to cancel and they will be forced to pay their annual fee next year

AND they get 3% back from merchants when you use your card...

I told the Rep that if they don't give me the points, I'll just collect my 20k offer and never AMEX again and talk poorly of it to everyone i know

i said this in a polite way lol
but iono if it'll even matter

w/e :/ i tried
