I saw that! It is an extra $140 but I have not found if the resonator actually makes a large difference.

I dug around for a few reviews... definitely a different sound than the regular TP from what the few people said. With the OEM mod, it's probably a nice balance.

That is definitely what I am thinking too. I will definitely need an option to return to stock for emission purposes. Option 1 with resonated test pipes are a little more complicated to set up initially but will make going back to stock cats far easier.

The new exhaust law is the same as it always been. Nothing has changed except it is now a mandatory fine instead of a fix-it ticket. Hell, even the SAE J1169 standard for measuring the sound limit was canceled so there is no set standard on how to measure the 95dB sound limit.

I think the test pipe solution is the way to go for us. We have to deal with California Biennial emissions so it makes sense to have a way to return to stock if necessary. Test pipes with "upgraded" flanges allow for repeated removal and also helps reduce storage space of a giant 1-piece x pipe. I've also thought about buying new O2 sensors to make swapping even easier. Not sure what I want to do just yet.

Sidenote,

We need to meet up sometime since we are locals!

# Intake time!

I ended up buying an AFE carbon fiber intake from AFE right after new years. It just so happen I was looking up the SKU to add to my "buy list" and noticed that AFE was selling the intake system on an overstock pricing of $217!! I posted it on the US M3 V8 facebook group and many folks were able to take advantage of it. I didn't post it up here due to sponsors and didn't want to deal with it. Either way, I ended up paying $234 shipped because of tax in CA.

## Installation
The installation wasn't too bad. The only thing most folks should be aware of is that the silicone coupler for the plenum to intake is an incredibly tight fit. I had two plastic toothbrushes as my picks to loop the tube over. I will not be looking to doing that again. Fit and finish are great. The stock airbox cover is a little tight and required some pressure to get the screws to reach the bottom piece. Overall this took about 15 minutes but I heard some folks were having trouble for up an hour.

## Impressions
Power wise. Don't feel any real difference except a little better response under 4k. Intake noise seems to have increased a bit as well. I'm very happy with the purchase considering it was $234 instead of the normal $500 or so price range. Most folks I've talked to who did a dyno showed net gains of 6-10whp so I'll take it!

# Spoiler time!

Let's add more carbon fiber right?! The factory BMW Performance spoiler has always looked so good so I went for one.

The weave and quality are what you expect from a factory piece. Removing the stock spoiler I used a plastic putty knife to help ease lifting the spoiler off. It feels sturdy and very strong. I went with 3M double-sided tape and it feels sturdy and strong. I'm very happy with it!

I got mine locally at the dealership where I know a few folks. getbmwparts has it for $336 shipped which is on par. It's hard to beat this price even locally.

Don't forget Morristown: they are at $299.25. Also Sun Motor Cars BMW might even have a lower price available than Morristown.

The OEM Perf Spoiler and the 3D Design ones are just right for the E90's imo, maybe I should look into this if the prices are these good.

Monday was fun.

I got a nice big crack during a cruise with my buddy Kalim and his newly acquired M2 competition.

Here are some quick pics I just randomly took.

#Climate Control?
There is a very interesting option I didn't know about called Climate control windshields.
Quote:
The climate comfort windscreen uses a layer of special reflective material to reflect certain wavelengths of sunlight: infrared radiation, which is responsible for increasing temperature, is not allowed to enter the cabin, while a high level of natural light is able to pass through it.
This reflective technology delivers a heat saving in the cabin of 10 ° C even in direct sunlight. Your air conditioning system can work more efficiently, and your enjoy a light-filled cabin with a comfortable atmosphere.

They have a nice purple-ish hue to them like the higher end S class and Tesla windshields. The caveats are they most likely interfere with radar detectors and garage door openers unless they are right by the rear view mirror where the material does not cover. I'll have to look into how to get this windshield and/or if it makes sense to have this instead of just getting a 80% tint film that doesn't mess with that stuff. Thanks to SFCM3 for chiming in to let me know about the option. I'll see if I can get the OE windshield or at least an OEM version.
