Ya, Evo passes. It's part of the reason I wanted Akra since Laguna is my home track. The 50lbs in weight loss doesn't hurt either.

Will upgrade to stage 2 from BPM.

Once the profi XL's are in, rear seats are pulled and the 1/2 cage is installed, I'm estimating around 3,350 on a full tank.
So around 3270 dry? What else have you done by way of weight reduction.
Ya. That seems right.

I'm DCT, manual / cloth seats, single hump.

With the AP 9660/9449 kit, E88s and AG 60AH battery and full tank, the car weighed 3,514.

Rough math was

- 50 for Akra
- 150 for front seats / rear seats / sound deadening and some of the other ancillary items in the trunk
+ 50 for 1/2 cage

= 3,364 - 14 gallons at 6 lbs (84) = 3,280.

After that there are no more obvious, non-comprising weight reduction options out there that I'm aware of. I'm still open to some of the below, but all of them have specific comfort or $/benefit trade offs.

AC, 50lbs?
Carbon hood, 10lbs?
Trunk, 10lbs?
Carbon doors (I drive to the track so doubt I'll go full cage)
Carbon door cards, 20lbs
Speakers
Let us know when you get the new weight. Sub 3300 might be a tall order on those changes,
but I love to hear of developments! I believe our tank capacity is closer to 16 gallons, so that should help

I shaved like 7lbs from my aluminum hood to carbon vorsteiner hood lol. good thing I got that for free.

but if you had to spend 2-3k... don't complain about the fit. especially the M24 and varis hood.

my hood was a good 8/10 fitment.

i love my carbon trunk though from vorsteiner~ I wouldn't run a wing on it though. i had a GT4-style rear wing on it and it was pushing down on it so hard even with reinforcement.

There's also the hood latches and cable which shaves another 7-8lbs (correct me roastbeef) with a carbon hood / aerocatch setup. Plus it helps with weight balance since most of the weight reduction on these cars is in the rear. Almost makes it worth it...

8 lbs? Definitely didn't feel 8lbs when I removed them. 2lbs maybe. But I'm not judicious in my weight reduction recording.

i removed the underside skeleton which dropped some weight. but it def felt 8lbs. unless you're talking about the smaller stuff.

the brackets/latches near the headlights are 2lbs, 13oz with the hardware. i don't have a weight for the cable associated with it, but if you snake it out of the front of the car to the driver's footwell, i'd suspect it to be close to 1/2lb.

my hood with the side and center latches attached was exactly 26lbs. i do have the trackspec vents, but they weigh less than oem because i removed some under hood structure.

the struts are about 1/2lb each.

Planning a Black Friday purchase to regain the suspension (90k stock ZCP). Narrowed it down to the Ohlins Track Day kit or the MCS 2Way. Both will include camber plates and I'll finally upgrade to monoballs, but otherwise everything else is stock. I do 2-3 track days a year and otherwise daily it.

On the MCS what's the deal with the rear coilover option?

I only want to do it once and I don't want to be wishing for more performance. Is the Ohlins kit enough? Is the MCS kit a big advancement over Ohlins?

I can't comment on MCS, but also think that with only 2-3 days a year the 1 way would be totally sufficient.

I love my Ohlins track day kit, totally compliant on the street, rides better than stock. I run 15 clicks at all times.

as someone who has had MCS 1WNRs and both Öhlins R/T & Öhlins Dedicated Track, I can confirm the MCS are a huge improvement. My MCS were true rear and I didn't feel any downsides — they had similar spring rates to my Öhlins dedicated tracks while riding the same if not more comfortably than my R/T kit.

Why cross shop 1-way Öhlins with 2-way MCS also?

I didn't even realize I was cross shopping 1way vs 2way #amateurhour

I definitely want 2Way adjustability. If I'm buying something with adjustability I want to be able to adjust both ends of the cycle. Just my preference. Otherwise I'll buy an EDC compatible option.

If I were in the market for 2 way shocks today, MCS would be what I would buy.

FWIW, I'm local with 600/900 MCS 2WNR if you ever want to fiddle with the dampers and try it out.

Hi Guys,

What are my brake ducting options if I'm running stock front aero and have the Do88 DCT cooler blocking my passenger side brake duct? Is the only workaround to get a front lip with a dedicated vent?

Grabbing these, https://www.bimmerworld.com/E9X-M3-a...ates-Pair.html and some hose from Pegasus, but need to sort out what to do on the passenger side.

im in the same boat as well, as i don't want to run a GT4 lip and i feel like i might be forced too haha. but there's also the vorsteiner style and arkm and challenge GT3

you could probably naca duct your undertray and put the hose there.

I run the hard motorsports backing plates and they fit perfect and have the correct design. Just another option.
