Weren't there a handful of guys who broke Bimmerworld race studs?

Not trying to get into a discussion. Just looking to preventively replace mine, and BW happens to have a sale. That is all

Studs should be considered a consumable, especially if you're tracking the car. Some proactively replace them once a year.

I don't know that I agree that they are consumables if you go pressed in M14 from Core 4. That's what I grabbed from Tom gills

Well those are larger than factory size studs.

Ya fair enough. Personally I just don't think it's worth the risk. After having my lugs partially back out due to a poor mating surface on a refinished wheel, I pulled the trigger. Doesn't hurt to go a bit overboard here.

I think I'll be replacing my pressed Core 4 MSIs every 3 year versus replacing my threaded MSIs every 2 years for the past 7 years.

No doubt he's got a great solution. Don't feel like coughing up the coin, OR removing rear axles. Now if I had a diff going in, different story.

Who sells threaded MSIs? Does gills

The Bimmerworlds look similar. Obviously don't go by look, ever. Just recall a revision possibly in the BW option. And also recall a few guys here, breaking Bw ones ..

I'm trying to manage temps better at the track. I'm in the Southeast USA with casual 90*+ track days. I've considered simply getting 1) do88 oiler cooler, 2) do88 oiler cooler + csf or do88 radiator, 3) Trackspec hood vents 4) some sort of pre-made vented hood as to not cut up mine.

I know a lot of y'all run the trackspec hoodvents which seem to help with heat escape as well as reduce lift. I'm not exactly looking forward to cutting up my hood which is why I'm wondering if I would see more improvement or equal improvement in heat management just from upgraded oil cooler/radiator?

They're still a consumable. Just depends how much track time you do on their replacement intervals. Just like wheels, they are also a consumable....

I'm starting with the full do88 kit and will assess from there. FYI, Leddy and do88 themselves are back ordered on the oil cooler. Autocouture has them in stock.

Let me know your reaction when you get them installed and have a day at the track. I'm just wondering if I could just spend a few hundred bucks on vents and achieve a similar result. Obviously long run I'll eventually upgrade radiator and oiler cooler, though, but considering options now.

I personally didn't see much improvement going from an OEM Radiator to CSF, I can't tell you about the hood vents but it's pretty much a guarantee they add value in heat/pressure evacuation.

The Do88 Oil Cooler provided noticeable improvement in oil temp management over OEM though.

I mainly replaced my radiator with the CSF piece as the plastic end tanks made me anxious (and it was a great deal). If I have coolant temp issues in the future I may look at the Do88 option or improve the core's ducting.

Some of you saw this on facebook/instagram but I forgot that I never shared it here.

I went on a journey at Road Atlanta into the outside tire wall at T3. Hit the driver front corner, car spun and then hit down the entire driver side. Did a good amount of damage to the car. Still managed a first place win that day

I walked away fine, the safety gear did its job. Glad I had a Hans and halo seat.

The rebuild process has already begun and I have big plans for the car to take it to the next level. Luckily I had track insurance so the eased the pain a bit.

Thanks man. It was my first time hitting anything on track. Walked away fine other than a bruised ego and busted up car
