I don’t think it will be helpful. We drive the front tires differently, and I run square setups so they will be rotated occasionally. However, I have four track days with them on the front of two different cars, which is enough for me. They haven’t been rotated yet and the front and rears look almost identical on both cars.

Maybe. But you want the best tires for the class and type of racing on both ends, so I can’t really think of a situation where you would want different tires in a race.

Good point. If you have a square setup it is a different story.

Look at what just got mounted!

Unmounted 265 rs4's, 275's ecf on 18x10 wheel, and 295 a7's on 18x11 wheel. Can't wait to break them in on Sunday!

What offset on the 18x10 setup? Hoping that 275 ecf will clear without spacers.

+25. Mounted them up last night and tons of space.

The 18x11's +25 might need a small spacer.

Keep in mind this is for an e46 M3.

I don't feel like the weight : $ ratio will be worth it? How much weight savings are we talking about?

couple pounds if you consider it realistically. cf is generally 40% lighter than steel, so id say about a 10%-15% reduction in weight over aluminum, 22lbs per rear quarter panel, assume 15% reduction... 3.3lbs.. 6.6 lbs over all weight reduced from the rear end.

while increase body rigidity as well.

my CF hood is legit like 2lbs lighter than the aluminum lol.

Ya. I can see the logic for cf doors but juice doesn't seem worth the squeeze here, unless race car.

Just got back after breaking in a brand new set of the new hotness Conti's. They're pretty legit. Very consistent, talks back to you, easy to correct.

Im still figuring out the pressures so will need a few more sessions to dial them in more. But for a solid 200tw tire for lapping practice, you can't go wrong.

Started out about 34 cold and stopped hot lapping when I noticed the psi's were at 41 hot. I'm planning to get back out again next weekend to keep tinkering.

I'll have to grab my old 200tw tire times to do a comparison.

The first lap was fun though... brand new tires and brake pads made for an interesting first lap of bedding everything in and sliding the tires around

Fun weekend out at Super Lap Battle with dogbone! Was awesome seeing Gabe's car on point for both weekends he was at COTA - 16's last weekend was truly special for an E9x. He was finally given the chance to get some solid laps under his belt and he definitely capitalized on that opportunity. Unfortunately as this weekend progressed I feel like the track slowed down a bit so a run at 15's wasn't in the cards. But all in all was a very fun weekend and happy to be out there as support for him - although he didn't need us (which is a great thing)!

For our part I took my M2C along to run this weekend since we were going to be there with Gabe anyways. It is a project we have been working on for a couple of months developing it into a worthy track car that is still an excellent daily driver. The build state would have placed us in Enthusiast class but SLB has a no shop owners rule for that class so we had to run Street class with all the other "street" cars there . Those cars are monsters - really all you have to do is have the oem panels in place in the front seat area and anything other than that is fair game. The car that won street class is a 2300lb, 600+whp, big aero, awd converted NSX - its was in the 13's . So not actually "street" cars but amazing machines none the less - really cool to see them run. We finished 8th out of 21 in that class running in the 25's - extremely happy with that and being able to hang in there somewhat in that class. This is the build thread if anyone is interested.

Also had a bit of fun being the pace car for the Gridlife race on Saturday. Their organizers saw my orange E90 in the paddock and asked if I would do it. So we wired it up with cameras and off we went. Definitely felt a bit weird having to peel off into the pits during a formation lap but was still fun. Think I could have given some of them a run for their money (well at least for a lap or two) .

And for those that do not know I bought tsk94 's E92. Took delivery of it early last week so brought it with us to run in our private session at COTA Friday morning. Only had time to run 4 full hot laps with it but can already tell it is a very well sorted car. It is a NASA ST3 level build and that was the configuration I ran it in. While still getting back used to a 6spd (read butchering it a little less each lap...) managed to get it into the 27's so the car definitely has good pace in it for that class. The build quality of the car is incredible - you can certainly tell Trevor and his father put a lot of love into this car. Not 100% sure where this car fits into our plans yet but can definitely excited to see what the future has in store for it
