Has anyone here tried a brake cooling kit on stock rotor/calipers? I’m leaning towards the pinnacle motorsports kit. Overheated the brakes on a 55 degree day with fresh fluid, semi-track pads.

Which fresh fluid? It would be alot easier to run a proper track pad that wants and likes heat, along with the highest temp fluid you can get, then to f around with ducting.
Ducting is for when you’re already on a dedicated track pad, with endless fluid in the lines and it’s 95 degrees out, and you need to control brake temps while keeping the pace high to maintain pad life for a given duration longer than a DE session. |

The 70 needs a sticky 200tw or softer tire IMO. But I run 315 hoosiers with my 70s ![]()

Every bit of this. PFC for the win. No bedding required. Just slap them on and drive. They get better as more pad transfer occurs throughout the first session (or the noisy drive to the track).
I ran SRF and PFC08's while instructing at COTA and Laguna back to back and never had an issue. Both very hard on brakes.

Did you ceramic coat them after cleaning to help keep them clean? Easy to do after all the hard cleaning work is done.

So I ordered some apex forged wheels with brushed clear finish and they sent two with no clear coat. Been going back and forth via phone and email since last week, and they offered me $300 to get them clear coated…in Seattle…lol wtf.

That is the first time I have heard of that happening and I sell a ton of their wheels. That sucks to have to deal with, for sure they should just replace them and pay to ship the messed up two back to them.

Another vote of confidence for Hawk DTC-60/70. I’ve been running DTC-60 in the rear OE calipers and have tried both DTC-60 and DTC-70 up front with 380mm Stoptech ST-60 calipers. Incredible price point compared to the competition. Most recently ran 60 rear and 70 front at COTA with Pirelli DH scrubs. Worked well. Always always Castrol SRF.

Got some cool parts for my "racecar" that hasn't been put together in about 4 years.
Last couple big things to order: - Alcon Nickel-Plated BBK (Front and Rear) from Bimmerworld - Custom Carbon Front Bumper with integrated splitter that will sit underneath my OEM GT4 Lip - Custom Carbon Fenders with integrated vents ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
