Keeping hood down to put less stress on hood shocks. Does not contact any of the connections or cord.

I'm a noob to the m3 world

How often do you have to drive to make sure your clock doesn't rest ?

I was thinking of buying a new battery because I get the car with a lift icon sometimes.

I usually drive short distances, which I heard is not good for the battery.... I try to drive at least 30 minutes every few days just for the battery.

The pics............
I bought the BMW tender to replicate exactly what you did. However I'm unsure about how to connect to the batter itself. Can you post a specific step by step on how / where you connected the cables together?

Sure , I can do that ..

On the previous page (page 2) you can see my pics . ( post # nr 26 )
My CTEK had the central connector with the 2- O-rings included in the CTEK kit .
It's really easy , all you need to do is...is to put the O-rings of the central connector under the fixations (bolts) of the terminals of the battery .
So...
Remove cover from the battery in trunk .
The central connector...
The O-ring of the RED cable goes on the POSITIVE (+) RED cable side of the battery .
The O-ring of the BLACK cable goes on the NEGATIVE (-) BLACK cable side side of the battery .
Cable with the central connector comes out under the cover of the battery and so now the connector is on the floor of your trunk .
And when you need to charge your battery just plug in the central connector and charge your battery with your battery charger in your trunk.
But think that your BMW tender has a install manual too ? (not sure)

Question about your BMW tender...
BMW battery tenders are actually made by CTEK , but I don't know if they come with the central connector or maybe only as a option ?
So you really need the central connector to install it this way !

I just got the low battery warning today. Can hooking up a battery tender right now help save the battery or would it be pointless at this point?

You can charge your battery always also after low battery warning , and let it charge for about 24 hours .
I charge my battery every weekend overnight because in the past I had also low battery warnings , because my car is not my DD.
Battery chargers like my CTEK are keeping our battery's in top condition .

Indeed CTEK or any other battery tender prolongs the life span of our battery .

I have been browsing/reading but haven't been posting for a while. Nothing interesting has come up lately to add value.

Maybe people are looking at the M2 and thinking of jumping ship, so not spending too much time on the S65 platform. For me, S65 is the last of the complete M cars. Chassis aside, I don't we will ever get a fully /// division built engine in the future. It is sad.

How have you been my friend ... any interesting news to share? I will PM you later today. Take care!

Since my car is not my DD I charge my battery every single weekend even overnight .
In wintertime when she's stored (hibernation) in my garage my CTEK it's on it for 2-3 months continious , depends how long the winter takes .
And after 3 years I had 0 troubles with my battery , but in the beginning without my CTEK I had of course warnings with start problems !
But after with my CTEK everything went just perfect ..

LOL a week? I wouldn't even bother unless you're going more than a month and it's consistently below freezing. My car has sat in an un-climate controlled garage for a month without being driven, and it has always fired right up.

I mean, it won't hurt to hook it up more often, but it seems like a lot of hassle for almost no tangible benefit.

Anyone ever remove the battery and put a tender on it? I may have to store my car in a garage without electricity and I am thinking it should be fine as long as everything is fully charged when I remove it and install it
