I just want to give a quick shoutout to KW in here if anybody is still running Clubsports like I am. Sent mine off to get rebuilt on October 1st and they arrived and were inspected by KW October 8th and I was given a 10-15 business day turnaround time for the rebuild...
Well, I'm happy to report my card got charged on the 12th and they arrived back to me today. Pretty impressive they weren't too backed up to get the rebuild itself knocked out in really only a couple of days. I guess under-promising and over-delivering makes me a happy camper! 12-days total turnaround time including shipping is certainly nice.
Only thing I'm not happy about is that they didn't send me a tracking number and my parts just happened to show up at my doorstep.

I'm just ready to drive my car again!

I believe you were thinking of getting them revalved a while back, did you end up getting KW to revalve them or just got them rebuilt?

KW Won't revalve them and even the best local shock lab to me wouldn't touch them so I had to just get them rebuilt. Going to be doing a custom-valved setup with MFactory soon though and let everyone know how their product is Seems like a decent competitor to the KW and much more serviceable so I'm looking forward to the comparison.

FYI, Castrol SRF is back in stock at Amazon for about $73 on Prime. There are some non-Prime sellers at $65 with free shipping.

YCW coilovers? Curious if you'd be using their recommended spring rates that utilize flat-ride or not, very different from the 'norm' of spring rates that you see on here.

Hoping to try something similar with my KW competitions in the future to compare the different philosophies.

Yup,
We're going to do a full custom setup with similar spring rates to what I have now which are 500/800lbs

Also, I think KW is more flexible and whatnot with the Competition stuff since it's a race-focused setup. The Clubsports are "street/track" advertised and they wouldn't even give me a shock dyno as that is proprietary info...

Why YCW over someone like BC. I have been looking at getting the BC 2-ways eventually

Have you tried 700/1000 or are you already on a divorced setup in the rear?

Just ask, because we're at similar weights. I just swapped out my 500/800 to 700/1000 on my JRZ setup and it's night and day better on the track with 0 negative impact on the street.

I'm on 800/570 in with a rear coilover - equivalent to 800/1100. For reference.

Very impressed by the dampers but starting to understand the limitations to such a front biased setup (relative to effective wheel rates and frequencies). Difficult to explain without going into a lot of detail but for anyone curious research 'flat-ride' to get an idea. YCW typically has setup their suspension with flat-ride philosophy in mind (having the rear frequency slightly higher then the front frequency). I'm assuming they are doing a 500/800 setup per Kelse92 request, but they typically don't go this route.

Ya I suppose so. I can get mine revalved by them if I need and they also supply dyno sheets - which is nice.

I wonder if you can have the CS upgraded to the base level competitions? The entry level competitions are a twin tube shock very similar to the CS, with slightly tweaked valving, stiffer spring rates and a few more spherical bushings and mounts. The mono tube design, the step up, is totally different.

The customization and service so far has been great. BC is pretty much just off-the-shelf and I guess could be modified down the road, but the YCW's are going to come in the custom specs we setup beforehand. There's going to be some growing pains I'm sure since this is a newer kit for the e92, but YCW/MFactory isn't new and definitely have racing experience through Honda racing so I'm willing to test it.

Hmmm, that would be interesting and could totally be looking into doing someday. I'm going to add that to my notes for next time if I keep these KW's around. But I may sell them.

Might not be that useful for you, as you're getting the YCW setup. But for others it might be an option to look into.

Just picked up a new daily and wanted to share, it's a well optioned 2021 m340i with the b58 "Supra engine" . I've had a few turbo cars in the past that I didn't care much for, something about this car is different though. I test drove this and the m2 competition and decided I needed the space of the 4-door for the family. I was also shocked at how great the throttle response is and the new Gxx chassis handles really well (on the street at least, tbd on the track at a later date).

Um, this is the track forum...

Haha, just kidding. Been in the passenger seat and it's insanely capable. Makes my e9x M feel like e36.

Very nice

A couple years ago my brother and I spent a week in SLC skiing. We stayed downtown and would go up to the canyons every morning really early.
We were both so impressed with the speed and poisy even the lowly 330 rental could provide. Amazing. The way we flogged that little guy!

I found them to be very fun at the Ultimate Drive Experience event last year. I was very impressed of its AUTO-x manners compared to the F30s..

I just ordered 600 6"/8" 900 springs for my car. Should be fun.

I'm going to sell off the BBS GT4s and get some easily replaceable forged wheels for the track. I'm looking at Titan R10, Bimmerworld TA16 and Apex EC7R as the contenders. It looks like I'm ruling out EC7R cause of the same GT4 look and leaning towards the R10 in 10.5 et25.

whatever you do, make sure you get 10.5 wheels because they fit quite happily

Yes.
Two sets of TEALs in 10.5. Such a great wheel. Also got 4 sets of TA5Rs for the F80 and another set of TA5Rs for the E9X.

I like having two sets of track wheels and then one set that's the same but only serves to go to/from the track. In the E9X the TEALs are the two track ones mounted with 285 R1 tires and then the TA5Rs are the same but have RE71s mounted for the drive to/from the track and as spares.

Unfortunately there is no 10.5 fitment for the F8X on TEALs, so in that application I just have TA5Rs. They've worked great so far.

@SYT_Shadow are you using spacers? Apex's ET22 made a lot of sense for me to do a direct fit while those ET27-25 wheels seem like spacer time to fit wide tires but not hit the inside. (Speaking of 295s, so maybe your 285s reduce the width just enough)
