From what I have seen the last couple of weeks at local events with several of the potential entrants testing, my money would be on Feras' vette to win, but if the right AWD car on Kumho's shows up it could give him a good run for the money. The car shows and stuff could be fun too though... idk. I'm on the fence after just going to Houston last week

That's why you've got to parlay it with other stuff in Austin, like hitting up Jester King or something. Or maybe even plan a backroads drive down there instead of just sitting on 35 the whole way. I'm also tempted by the Trans Am race the following weekend which will allow spectators...

Looking forward to a new PB, I've only been there once back in May with a 1:58.x, I really think my car ought to be able to do a 1:55 with a better driver... |

Doesn't seem like there is a slider option for the BK floor mounts though. Is there a good solution to that? I will most likely sit too high using the stock powered mounts.
Edit: I will try and find some manual seal rails. Think I already found a pair. Last edited by b4hand; 10-20-2020 at 07:56 PM.. |

Maybe it's my particular seat (Recaro Pole Position) but I'm on the BK side mounts with manual sliders and the seat is on the highest mounting points and I couldn't imagine it being much lower. I"m 6'1" too. It's already a good bit lower than the outgoing Sportster was.

I'm not tall but have a long torso. My BK side mounts on the stock sliders are on the middle setting and way too low. I need to raise it up or get a booster pad for the seat lol

I mean I could probably tolerate another 1-2" lower but I don't prefer it. I also street drive my car mostly so I don't exactly want to be as low as possible that might be perfectly fine if it was a track only car.

Kelsey alluded to something that makes fitment so difficult -- everyone's body proportions are different. Two people of the same body height might need different seat heights, as an example.
You need to do lots of measuring and probably have a second person help you out.

I should add that my Torso isn't super tall/long so that helps me sit as if I was a bit shorter than I really am. Also in my seat I've removed the foam out of the cushion under my butt so I'm just sitting right on top of the fiberglass shell of the seat. That really made a huge difference that made me feel like I truly sit IN the seat instead of ON the seat. For a lot of the Recaro seats the bottom is two cushions, I've just removed it from the rear portion. Front portion still has it so my legs stay comfy. I've done many long drives in the seat like this and it's never really bothered me.

I'm also 6'4, but mostly legs, and regular length torso. I have the Cobra Nogaro's on BK mounts, mounted to the oem power sliders with e30 sunroof buttons acting as my power slider buttons. Very clean install and mounted in the lowest position. I could MAYBE do with another inch lower (based on just removing the butt pad entirely) for track days, but I wouldn't want to drive to/from track that low.
As always, ymmv |

The alternative option for me is to have cobra make a half thickness butt pad for track days only, if I really feel like that extra inch is worth is. Keep in mind I'm running a Nogaro, which is not a full blown track day seat, so it's possible an OMP halo might just get you even lower with no other modifications. Also, as I mentioned, I'm tall. I had a friend who's 5'10 take the car out for a drive last week and he thought it was as low as he would possibly want for track events. My point is, aside from someone who's my height and all torso, I can't see how you'd need to go any lower than what these BK mounts offer, unless you're after a true F1 laid off out seating position for some reason. |
