Dealerships, Insurance companies, Lease companies...Some companies are required to ID components. Others simply opt to ID the panels, and then others still would sell them as an add on "security" package to buyerys. They're not OEM sourced or in any way associated with BMW. You can buy them yourself from auto industry suppliers. Most cars won't have these dopey stickers on them, it's not a big deal if you do or don't.

But yes, this is very similar to the $500 undercoat, $400 wax, $300 scotch-guard etc... Dealerships make very little selling you a car. Dealerships do make a ton of money selling you "value added extras" and boy can they be pushy pricks about it. Cheers,
