Questions upgrading the rims
Hi quys I'm consedring upgrading the rims on my 2010 M3 not sure if I want to stay 19 inch or go with 20's, I think the 20's are going to look beter however is it going to cause any issues later down the road.
I can get a great deal on the 20's soooooooooooo Any advice would be great |

i rock 20's on all the M's cars i have had, i def think they make the car look better however i don't track my car nor really get on it. the old saying goes
18 for performance 19 for looks and performance 20 for looks

19's are the best balance between looks and performance as golffrr said. If you do go 20 a drop is a must to avoid the 4x4 look

You'll probably have some difficulties with 20s on the rough winterized roads in TO. Seems like they never get around to fixing everything fast enough. One pothole will ruin your 20. At least a 19 will have a bit more sidewall to cushion the impact.

In the end, this is your car. If you really dig the aesthetics of 20"s then I say go for it and save your OE wheels and get proper tires come winter. If the M goes into storage for winter then I wouldn't see the problem with getting 20"s anyways.

19's without a dish look good, with a dish look small. 20's with a dish look perfect, no dish they will look big. The roads here do get bad, it depends on how you drive. Ive had several heavily modified cars, some with super stretched low pro tires. And ive been fine, you have to drive accordingly. Any rim can get damaged on a big pothole. If you get 20" wheels just drive a bit more cautiously. Of course this is all just my opinion. |

Thanks for the advice guys.
I never drive the car in the winter its just a summer car at best and my car already comes 10mm lower then regular M3 that was part of the indivadual pacakge plus there is a great deal on the rims. Hmmmmm what to do. |

if you drive downtown much, avoid 20s, i did a nice job bending a couple of the HREs I had and eventually decided to go back to 19s rather than completely obliterating the 20s over potholes and streetcar tracks.
then again, im sure my portly E93 is even harder on 20s than your coupe would be. |
