I'm on the annual wheel bolt replacement schedule and replaced front wheel bearings for the first time at about 63k miles. Was chasing down an ABS issue and did it. Wasn't the problem but good to do anyways.

Lol I fell victim to the river Sunday. Went off in the first session after ricochet haha, so slick there! Dried up quick though by the end of the day was gone.
Oh no - did you get mud all over the inside of your car? I saw you running the boys down in Intermediate on Sunday. Way to go!

Thanks!! Slowly but surely trying to make my way into the 1:2x times there
And thankfully no mud other than a little on the wheels/tires, but still cleaning grass out of my engine bay and front end haha

I almost drove to Dallas last weekend to cruise around but stopped at Austin. Are there any places to check out for never been to Dallas before?

I stay on bolts as well. How many torque cycles are you guys doing annually?

For example, only 6 track days/brake pad changes = 12 cycles. The factory coating is pretty much gone.

I lost count.
Wheels are going on and off for many reasons.

I just installed studs a few weekends ago. Am I the only person who thinks it isn't much easier than the wheel bolts?

You are.

Hanging a wheel on studs vs trying to use wheel bolts is way easier...but maybe I am a girly man.

I use a wheel hanger that screw into hub like a bolt. Easy

Studs still easier and quicker.

Also, if I want to run different spacers I don't have to change lug bolts.

No, I'm with you. And don't trust the aftermarket. This thread is a sample of the shit vs good and those unfortunate to directly experience it.

I'd rather periodically replace a bolt than mess with R&R'ing new studs. No spacers involved makes this a no-brainer for me.

If the track is actually wet, the dry-line is like ice. I'm not a fan of the rim-shot at most tracks, but the absolute edge of the track has decent grip on several corners. Get your turning done before or after crossing the dry line. I have a video or two on YouTube of going clockwise there in the wet.
I had a code brown moment coming out of ricochet...that water was a PIA because I had a couple more oh shits in the braking zone into little bend.

In the wet, about a 1/2 car width off the dry line works great especially in the braking zones. Just do the rim shot in rattlesnake and little bend. Not sure how wagon wheel is...I've only driven the 3.1 in the rain.

I install the wheel and check torque one time afterwards.

At the BMWCCA event this past weekend I witnessed 5 drivers check torque mid-day putting a lot of force on the torque wrench to get an immediate click. I just shook my head. If they torqued it to 90 ft/lbs my bet is they were well over 110ft/lbs.

It's interesting to see how easy it is to go +10% with my digital torque wrench. It gives you a reading for each pull. It really takes a lot of care to get all 5 with if 5 ft/lbs. Doesn't take much at all to go 10-15 ft/lbs over on lug nuts.

Lol I have bolts up front and studs on rear. Neither are easy, but I run 10mm spacers all around on the daily setup and only rear spacers on track and the bolts up front are a PITA with the spacers

I just bought a car that has Apex studs. The car apparently has 6 track days on it, but I'm not sure how many are on these studs, if any. I don't plan to track the car.

Do I need to replace the studs if it's just used on the street? Should I convert back to bolts?

For the street I would personally just keep them as is.

I switched to MSI after breaking another BW Race stud. Not all studs are made equal.

Not mine. Failed mid-turn. Take a very close look at studs at 12:00, 3:00 and 5:00.
