Right side header
This side was designed so that the starter could be removed without removing anything else. The engine and trans can also be removed separately which if you knew the restrictions would know it is quite a achievement. The runs are equal length.

Thank You! We are getting closer and should have the majority of the necessary fabrication done this week. I might choose to move the diff cooler and add some gusseting that will add time.
I am also exploring the possibility of a wide body and engine work........ We'll see. Last edited by PrimeBMW; 12-15-2014 at 11:45 AM.. |

Oh, NASA folded here in the Pacific Northwest. So we will not be able to compete there unless we travel. Therefore we can get the car as light as possible and add power to compete elsewhere.

Awesome project. I'm actually working on the same swap currently (have a thread over on M3forum). My buddy Ryan (with Apex) actually said he talked to you recently about it at a track day.
I see that you welded shut the ports on the oem valve covers. My question is did you do the same to the lower portion of the intake manifold? Did you look at going with the option (pic attached)? I just didn't want to spend the coin. If you have the $$$ though it's an awesome option. |

I can only guess. We already have SCCA and Conference/Team Continental splitting the racers into two groups. Then comes along NASA and splits the pie up again. NASA did well with Time Trial and HPDE but just didn't have good numbers for racers. Maybe it just didn't pencil out money wise........i don't know. It’s a shame because I really enjoyed the Time Trials the last couple of years.

The oil fill hole/cap? I guess we could have called Dinan for the valve covers but was just easier to weld it shut considering it will not be used in our application. |

I agree on the valve covers. The Dinan ones are nice but pricey for something you can do for basically free. |
