Can you play movies through the USB port?

I have DVD in motion programmed into my car and my kids (5 and 2) love watching it but we are constantly watching the same movie. I think we have watched Tangled about 50 times so far and although it is better than the previous movie (Madeline) I am tired of it. I know that I could bring a bunch of DVD's into the car but thought it would be easier if I could just load them onto a USB drive and play them off of that. Does anyone know if this will work or what format is needed? I have the DVD ripping software and a bunch of the Disney movies already ripped to play on my iPad and TouchPad.

You should be able to play them from your iPod touch/iPhone if you get the "Media Snapin adapter". I also found that I can stream Netflix from there.

Edit: you need to have BMW apps also.

Yep, got that. Not sure why that would be a requirement though?

So is there no way to play movies on a 2011 (post September production) M3? I mean while you are driving.
