at Road America Corner 12 around the 100brake marker, i was too close to the driver track edge and downshifted too high, and my rearend kicked, sucked me into grass, i steered into and made impact with wall barricade driver front wheel first. Then pivot off my mirror and tailwhip my rear wheels into the wall too. Impact focused on wheels using mirror as a fulcrum in the wet grass.

Heard minor cracking in the diff with wheel turned in reverse, drove home loose, dealer says need two new axles dif and drive shaft. track insurance says damage due to new normal wear & tear. $8500 not including body work at the dealer.

Track insurance says i need to prove it is from the impact- how do i do this?

Since im replacing all this stuff, any recos for upgrades to driveshaft or dif would be appreciated.

Wow really sorry to hear about this. Considering you have an independent witness in the corner worker the insurance company is acting unreasonably and without cause. Just respond that they either accept the claim or you will turn it over to your lawyer who is an expert in insurance bad faith law.

Which track insurance company is this?

Did you provide the Corner Worker's report with your claim?

Sedgwick says i need to prove its from impact.

i provided them the incident report, consistent with damage. seems straight forward, not sure how else to "prove it" besides tow or drive it to another shop, hoping somebody has been through a track insurance claims dispute.

dealership says i gotta replace both axles, the dif, and the shaft. maybe a good time to upgrade to aftermarket i guess.

I have never heard of this track insurance carrier. But know a few people that have claimed with Hagerty and it was no questions asked.

I think Sedgwick is the company that manages the claim for lockton. That's who I dealt with after my claim with lockton. There was a little drama but it was easily resolved.

Sedgwick handled my paternity leave (they needed proof I had a baby) and dealing with them is unpleasant at best. They're designed to be an intermediary that you hate instead of the actual party causing the issues.

First, get a description of what the insurance company needs as proof. Might be straight forward.

You should have a pre-event tech inspection form as required by these HPDE event that would have identified anything with significant damage. If you or other participants have any video of the event that shows your car on track in working condition, that's good enough evidence showing the critical parts are in working order.

If it's already been to shop post-incident, get a write up from them with their opinion of what caused the damage.

If that's not enough evidence, lawyer up.

i don't have anything to add to what others have said, but that sounds like some BS.

Wow, if that's what dealing with Lockton is like I'm glad I switched to RLI - RLI covered time trials and it was painless dealing with them when I had my Vegas reenactment of Dukes of Hazzard.

My guess is that most claims are with cars that were unable to drive home. Incident report that is filed with BMWCCA should be sufficient.
