Exhaust Cutout Wiring Help

Hi everyone,

Getting a set of electric exhaust cut outs installed tomorrow and have been trying to find a way to wire them from under the car up into the trunk. I have searched all over to see if someone explained how they wired their own but I have had no luck.

Is there a grommet inside the trunk I can use or should I just drill through the plastic compartment?

Thanks

There is a grommet behind the rear bumper towards the right side.

There is a grommet in each wheel well behind the fender liner.

The plastic trunk pan is removable... you could drill a hole through the plastic and use a grommet to seal it. The pans are relatively cheap on the used market if you wanted to convert back to factory.

Thank you. I will probably just drill through the plastic compartment then. Sounds like that would be the easiest way.

Exhaust Cutout Wiring Help

I recently wired up my Evolve exhaust and these photos might help. The grommet in the trunk is by the battery, I was able to just run the wires under the carpeting in the trunk over to the battery. Below the car you need to remove the heat shield and you'll find another grommet. One thing to note is the two holes (from below the car and from above the trunk) do not line up. I'd guess they're off by ~6" or so.

I drilled towards the end of the trunk where the trunk lid is. It's a thin plastic and goes right to where the mufflers are.

Also it's usually just a power and ground wire
