Quote to wrap the chrome trim was $450! Don't think he really wanted to do the job due to concerns about longevity since vinyl is designed to adhere to painted surfaces. At that price I might just order a roll of 3m 2080 gloss black and watch a few youtube videos.

Beautiful day out so I epoxied the headliner clips that had given up and did a little cleaning before installing a simple aux Bluetooth module and going on a nice long drive. Rolled 43k miles and decided exhaust note will win over music most of the time.

Noticed the warning today that oil level was too high. Drained the front sump this evening so hopefully it is in spec when I drive it tomorrow.
While under the car I realized that it has the full fabspeed performance package (not just the cat back exhaust I assumed it was)! Claims to add 27hp so along with the dinan intake I should be pushing 450 - I doubt it would dyno anywhere near that, but it sounds amazing and has great throttle response. Also sent the old 911 to California - shockingly on an open transport.

I managed to track down and talk to the PO tonight. Sounds like he was a very hands on owner so we are going to meet up for a beer sometime soon to go over all the repair/maintenance work he did on the car during his ~3 years of ownership. He also has some parts and a Carly diagnostic tool.
The dealer I bought it from actually gave him $2k more on trade than I paid for it!

Smart buyer gets a pre-purchase inspection. Lucky buyer gets a post-purchase inspection without any costly issues identified. Today I was a lucky buyer!

The oem zhp knob doesn't light up. Go with the f10 m5 knob or retrofit the zhp if you want to keep the illuminated shift pattern.

Funny - I saw your craigslist ad a couple weeks ago and was considering trading mine.
I live down the block from you on Lindell by Colleens! Travelling now but we should grab a beer when I'm back in the spring. |

I just learned that the dealer I purchased the car from performed a pre-sale oil service with the wrong weight oil. Should I be concerned that I logged ~1500 miles on 0w40 instead of the recommended 10w60? Should I get it changed immediately or is 0w40 a legit alternative as indicated in some threads?
The car is not daily driven and colder weather is here so maybe the 0w40 is fine until I take it in for routine Spring service...but I will defer to your expert opinions. Thanks in advance.

I ran the 0w40 Mobil for many thousands of miles on mine, eventually settled on Redline 5w50 because consumption was noticeably worse on the 0w40, but it's not polite to discuss religion in here lol. I'd just add something like hte Mobil 5w50 from walmart, or something like that as makeup-oil when it asks for it, and change when you're ready.

How hard was it to remove the old knob? I've got a new boot to install, but have heard it can be quite a yank needed to get the old one off.

It's super easy to take off. I also did the Zhp knob instead of the f10 cause the price and don't care about the light. I added an alcantara boot as well

Received a very clean OEM steering wheel and trim today from SCHNAUZER_M (thank you). It will be a nice improvement over my current wheel that has some leather cracking between 10 & 2 and peeling trim.
Shoot me a PM if you need a steering wheel "core".

Just yank upwards, or is there a twist or something needed?

Put it in 2nd or 4th. And yes just yank firmly.
