I don't even own an M3 anymore but still get price alerts for this oil.

Amazon's sale price on a 12 pack of 1L Castrol 10W-60 has reached an (almost) all-time low price since its lowest in 2016. Comes out to $8.64/liter before tax.

Castrol 12064-12PK 12064 Edge Supercar 10W-60 Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil, 1 L, 12 Pack

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0161A4CIS...UTF8&psc=1

Get it while you can!

Jw is it better switch to this once higher mileage? I'm just using the standard one most use from bmw dealer.

Is there even a difference between this?

I will assume you are talking about twin power. Originally there was castrol TWS. BMW Twin power is a shell oil that they are currently selling. There was some sort of contract that ended between BMW and Castrol (or the shell was cheaper). it's been years since I read up on this. Castrol TWS was replaced with Castrol Supercar, although I think there are still bottles of TWS floating around. There are a hundred oil discussions on this if you look around the "oil" forum on which one might be better than the other. Also, I'm sure there are many here who can give you a much more in depth answer.
Any of the above are fine, it's whatever is on sale basically. Just don't buy the castrol edge sport stuff, it is not the supercar/tws. Liquimoly may or may not give you lifter noise.

BTW thanks OP, I grabbed a case of it!

After trending every single oil change from 35k miles to 50k miles. I've noticed that BMW OEM Shell Mpower oil isn't as good as the Castrol TWS supercar formula. The results and wear patterns will show. For extended use beyond 3k miles the TWS supercar formula holds up better.

Any insights as to Shell vs TWS Super Car vs Liqui-Moly?

TWS and Shell are both quieter than Liquimoly, but Liquimoly works just as good as any other oil listed even in extended life use.

I posted some information here, might not be technical enough or analytical enough to draw any conclusions but I feel that Liquimoly is pretty solid of an oil company and I had no issues running it all winter in the past. I've only switched to BMW M-Power/Shell oil because it was cheap from my source.

I have more Blackstone reports but I haven't uploaded it because I feel that not many care to see it.

Very good to know. Because FCP offers LiquiMoly I'll probably end up going with them. I've always been weary of BMW's new 10w60 (Shell) oil as in addition to your comment I've heard some other not so good things about it as well. Normally I wouldn't care, but with an engine so tightly wound I figure every tiny bit makes a different.

I would use Liquimoly over BMW Shell's oil if I didn't live in -30 degree winters.
I felt that the car would take a bit longer to warm up with the Liquimoly but there was no effect on the engine in terms of metal wearing and engine wear.
The Liquimoly formula has more MOS2 also from the base oil.

The BMW Shell is quite cheap here locally if you have a friend at the dealership.

If I had to pick, I would go with Castrol TWS and Liquimoly if I could get them at a decent price.

Liqui Moly warms up quicker than the OEM Shell oil in my car. LM kits (with filter, new plugs) can be found for $105 while the OEM kits are $130.

Not in -30 degree winters for what I have noticed. Summer yes.

That's interesting. At least at 40F/4C, LM warms up quicker and I don't drive the car when it's colder than that so I assumed the trend would be true as it got colder.

I tried Motul on the M3 since I run it on my track and street bikes. While the car ran fine, it did run a bit noisier similar to what people say about the LM. There’s a definite increase in the valve train noise.
I switched back to the Castrol and the engine quieted back down
