I was trying to check some of the items from the iDrive hidden menu on your list but it doesn't seem to work for me. Does this still work to get into the iDrive hidden menu? From what screen do you start?

Thanks,

Result after car reprogrammation

For your information, after a car reprogrammation, the new controller works fine.
The only issue I have is with the cd button and the radio button. The CD button brings me to the music menu and the radio button to nothing.
But it's a good news that it works after a car reprogrammation....

I'll have to find the interior trim for it now...

The reality is that this is a very expensive mod for the benefits that it will provide... and only makes monetary sense if you are planning to go all the way with the full iDrive swap as well.

Haha, that could be said for just about any BMW mod.

Let me know if you find another used HD screen in one of your midnight junker runs, but with the P/N 65 82 9 193 755 (second version). All the used HD screens that I found so far are from extremely early production '09 3-Series with the very first version of this HD screen.

I bought the controller at the Japanese BMW dealer. I order the controller part numbered 048 but it came as 9189049.

I tried it but it didn't work 100%. all the buttons and functions worked except dial(scroll function) but the cross movement works.

any ideas?

Is it just my program old?

sorry I posted the same post on the related thread.

...
If you replace the iDrive controller of the Navigation Professional (CCC) by the one without force-feedback from Navigation Business (MASK) the same thing occurs: everything works fine except scroll function.

This problem can be solved: It is required to change a setting of Navigation Professional (CCC), it must be switched from "Controller high" to "Conroller low".

According to Thorsten from http://www.car-coding.de/ this modification can also be done by a BMW dealer. They call it "performance controller" - probably because Navi Prof (CCC) works much faster with the non-force-feedback controller.

would someone mind posting the parts that i would need to order for my car so i can do this upgrade for an June 08 build? i've trudged through several threads including this one and it seems as though certain 09 controllers work in 08's as expected, but not as expected in others. i believe all i need is the CORRECT controller for my June 08 DCT and the console trim, correct? anything else? thanks!

That's not correct.

The problem is the coding version in your car and not the controller P/N. And if you re-read this thread and my thread you will know that your 06/08 M3 has the correct coding for this controller, as any 03/08-on M3 does.

Can you help me please?
I went to the dealer, but they said if I retry to reprogram the performance controller they don't know if it will work and that car might not work at all.
they told me that they aren't trained to do that kind of stuff.

Do you know people at this this site(car-coding.de)?
if so can you introduce me to them(refer me). I am willing to go to germany, to learn how to code BMWs. I mean if they are willing to pass the knowledge for a price.

I'm just making sure before I go ahead. I should have no problem retrofitting the drive controller in my 04/08 m3 sedan?
