Did you wrap the x pipe at the guibo end of the driveshaft?

These driveshafts have been track tested and proven for some time now. I hope they get their issues squared away. It would be a shame for a good product like this to go away.

Are these superior to the carbon shaft from Driveshaft Shop? I don't see much written about that one which is currently available.

From what I remember, MFactory only ever made one initial batch but then had a problem with a sketchy manufacturer. Seems like they got the design right though.

Word. Thanks. I've still got x pipe and exhaust off so it'll be easy.

I have a DSS one piece chromoly with no guibo and aluminum adapter on my 99M3 and it adds significant NVH. I hate it but I have 600 lbs rwtq and twist stick shafts in 2. I will be changing to a GS6-53 6 speed (like on the E9xM3) and one piece DSS carbon shaft but it also uses the aluminum adapter instead of guibo. Hoping shorter length and the carbon fiber help reduce NVH.
On my 08M3 I have a CF shaft just like the MFactory. It was one of the ones that MFactory’s builder was selling to other sources. It has the guibo and adds no NVH. My poly diff bushings add a little noise though. And it is no less clunky than a stock shaft. |

Just a quick update for you guys
The good news first. Our shipment of Carbon Fibre from Toray Japan is finally on the boat over to our facility, and should be arriving in a couple weeks time. We can then start testing/developing the tubes (finally!). The bad news. We still need to test/develop the tubes, so still don't have an ETA yet. However, as we do have our flanges in stock, it's really just the tubes that we are waiting on to complete. I just hope that not too many people decided not to wait for us (and I can't blame them) and went and purchased the DSS or VAC driveshafts instead. As soon as I have more details, you guys will be the first to know |
