Hey looking for guidance in a bit of a pickle. I went to get my yearly inspection sticker the other week and it was denied and give a temporary 60 day "R" sticker, because they saw the codes had been cleared recently (i.e. before I had driven ~100 miles for the computer to reset). I had just brought it in for service work the week before so that made sense, and I was told to just come back after driving more miles so the computer has time to reset and they would give me the sticker. All of this isn't a problem aside from the hassle, BUT yesterday my service engine soon light popped on. I understand you won't pass inspection with this on, however today it's no longer there anymore...
My question is this: assuming the light doesn't come back on again, can I go get my state inspection sticker today, or do you think I'll need to drive it another ~100 miles from the time the SES light first popped on, so the computer has time to reset again. Said another way, did I basically set myself back again with that one time light flashing? I've since driven 120 miles since first going to get the sticker, so the original issue the denied me for I believe is past me. Thanks for the help! |
