Dave, get Edition gloss versions instead.

1. The gloss' shine compliments the high gloss of the SSII paint
2. matte black are all 3rd party custom jobs, they fade, look bad, and tend to overpay for them.

Seriously get Edition gloss versions and don't look back.

Alright, I'm really conflicted now... At first I was going to go gloss black, then I saw velocity's matte and really liked the way they pretty much disappear. But Jesal's photos are nuts! I'm guessing the matte looks great from a distance but less so once you get close.

Are the Edition ones all black gloss, or are some black chrome?

i wouldn't say it's "chrome". It's just shiny and glossy, Jesel's picture accurately captures the look. But it looks great on SSII's glossy finish. IMO, the OEM chrome doesn't look bad on SSII either. I was even on the fence buying Edition grills b/c I thought OEM chrome looked pretty good...but then I found a great deal on this site from someone selling theirs.

I also haven't bought the side gills yet for the same reason, you can't even tell on a SSII car whether it's blacked out or not, and the OEM chrome looks pretty good.

To my eyes, black = aggressive = better

Also helps to match the look of the big inlets at the bottom of the front clip.

I've pretty much got the car from all the ad material from the initial launch of the car... except mine has more rock chips.

I know it sounds a little hokie pokie, but if you guys haven't tried Dr.Colorchip, check it out. I was a little scared of the paint match, especially with S.Graph, but mine came out great!

Gloss black all the way! That'd look better than matte I think, since the SS2 looks like liquid metal!

I've got some - it does work pretty well. Wish it filled the "hole" a little better, but that may be operator error on my part. Will need to do some more after this road trip. Doesn't help that the highway section of my daily commute is frequented by sand and gravel trucks...

Alright guys. Edition it is!

No doubt Edition is the right way to go!

I've got the same issue with the dimples. I'm sure I could layer it if I went back and filled it more. Just don't have the patience for it, plus it looks good enough. My car isn't a garage queen.

Neither is mine. Probably good that it came with a little wear showing when I bought it. The first chip would have killed me. I used (and abused?) her this weekend!

At some point, all those chips become the patina of a well-loved and hard-driven car. Thinking of old 911s with lots of chips on the rear fenders from track work...
