Thanks, Brian is a great example of the breed and I'm an Akita guy for life! Plus, he LOVES riding in the M, when I brake, he always gets down cause he knows a corner may be coming up. He's a smart one.

When I first got him @ 8 weeks, had him at the big dog park 2 times a day. He was great untill about 1.5 yrs but now, he's pure Akita. He's great with females and most males but, with a male, if there is a long stare, a growl or any challenge, he has ZERO tollerence for it. Had him at a park here in Miami last weekend(been there 20 times without incident), was great untill the 185 lb Mastiff decided he wanted to be Alpha and tried to hump Brian. He didn't take kindly to it as I told the mastiffs owner who did nothing. Brian turned and ripped a 5 inch hole in the mastiffs lip. We're officially done with dog parks for a while!

He is fantastic with ALL people! My niece rides him like a pony, nephew pulls on his ears like they'd come off. Very protective of the kids though. If an adult comes near the kids when they're playing, he addresses them immediatly and has no hesitations with throwing his weight around to let them understand he's looking out

my kind of dog. girlfriends dogs - a yellow lab and a jack russell let her open her back gate... walk over rock (its az - no grass - we 0 scape.) and then climb through the back of the home dog door and then finally noticed she was there and instead of growling at the dark shadow in the house they grabbed dog toys to bring to her lol... like a dog that alerts me and looks out for me and my fam!

Can't get these 2 rascals to stand still long enough to take a photo, but here's Candy (left) and Cookie (right), both Maltese. Candy comes in the M3 sometimes, but Cookie never does, she's not behaved enough.

Gotta love Akitas. Not so sure, because of their nature, if I would get one with the possability of family etc etc. I have had 3 in the past. My idiot cousin decided it would be a good idea to just walk into my mothers house at 9pm(she never used to lock the door). Well Thor (80lb female Akita...yeah i named her thor..i was a kid) didnt like the idea of someone she didnt really know walkking in and took the liberty of letting him know she was there. She snapped at his leg a little. No vicious attack, just a ...hey, who the hell are you bite. ha ha..My cousin was an idiot..Who walks into a house with 2 80lb Akitas that he KNOWS were very protective dogs to my elderly mother.

Sorry, Beagle only rides in the Navigator.

You guys will never get all the hair out of those cars.

That's what the detailer is for!

My Chesapeake Loki rides in the back. Got the BMW seat cover, works like a charm.

Got him and the M in the divorce. She got everything else.

I win.

she only rides in the M when there is a passenger to hold her down, though, and has a lap to sit on!

Not the M3 (which she traveled in often), but here's our Jack Russell in my Cayman S and the wife's Z4M.

She's in a Kurgo skybox in the Z4M (great if you have a smaller dog as it's a secure box the dog is harnessed to) and a DIY secure box in the Cayman's "crowsnest". She prefers these to being on the seat because they put her at the same height as me. That allows her to easily see out the front and side windows in the Z4M and gives her a full 360 degree view in the Cayman.

She really is great co-pilot. Since her head is at the same height as mine she can keep a very close eye on the traffic. That comes in handy as if someone starts coming over into my lane she growls and barks. (I didn't train her to do this intentionally, but as I yell at drivers who do stupid things she probably picked up on it and has established "rules" in her little dog-brain.) So she sort of acts like organic idiot driver avoidance technology!

I'm reviving this thread with a picture of my boys. They ride in teh M a couple times a week.

Rascal on the left is a mix. Part Chihuahua, and part Jack Russel we're guessing
Apollo on the right is a Shetland Sheepdog, but most refer to him as a "miniature Lassie".
