Value my M3

Hello everyone. I'm curious what forum members would think my M3 is worth. Because it's a little unique.

It is a 2009 E92 with carbon fiber roof, DCT and 85k miles. Melbourne Red.
Here's where it gets a little tricky. I did not know it when I purchased the car but it has had a respray due to being keyed. It's not obvious and the respray is probably 99% as good as OEM. However I know that is going to ding the value. It didn't really bother me too much but I wrapped the car so now I obviously don't even think about it.

Other than that the car has been mechanically flawless. I replaced the rod bearings at around 60,000. I track the car few times a year and it's always been solid as a rock. Interior is good, not great just due to the peeling vinyl around the window switches. Leather is what you would expect and looks pretty good for a car with 85000 miles.

Now for the good part, the car is lowered on KW V3, has stoptech st40 and st60 brakes, Turner test pipes and a Megan axle back. BPM tune. Forgestar CF5V with MPSS tires.

Anyway, I don't really plan on selling the car but I am curious as to what people think it would be worth if I did. In my mind the mods sort of offset the paint so maybe it's just about the typical price of a 2009 with 85 K miles. Which isn't much, LOL.

Thanks in advance. No pics on my tablet, I'll try to get some up, but you all can use your imaginations.

To the perfect buyer, 28-29k. To everyone else, 25-27. Mods don't add value unless the buyer appreciates it, and wants them.

I think 29k sounds a little high. I paid 34k for a 2011, 1 owner, always garaged, all original bone stock, zcp, 34k miles.

If you would tell me 5k gets me 51000 less miles, 1 owner, the lci updates of an 11, and zcp I would spend that 5k in a heartbeat. Oh yeah it came with an extra set of rims and snow tires almost brand new.

I would say you are looking more at 27k value.

I personally do like some mods on cars so maybe up to 28 on your particular car but bone stock sells easier and higher.

You should sell the stoptechs separately, at a minimum. If you still have the orm wheels, i would sell the forgestars as well. You won't get much for these if you sell them with the car.

Again I reiterate advice from a wise old sage who proffered: "keep the car, sell the wife..."

I want my car to be worth zero when I am done with it. I bought it to drive, not to preserve for the next owner.

JD, the advantage to cars like yours and mine is that they've been well taken care of and are in above average condition for their mileage. If either of us were to ever sell, while we wouldn't command a pricing premium, we'd have a much easier time selling as the comparable cars will be much worse.

I've also been trying to establish a value as I'm looking to switch insurance to an agreed value plan.

I was saying my wife wouldn't let me sell. Maybe she should sell the husband!

I know what you mean, but I also think buying the whole package may be appealing to the right person. Reduces the number of buyers, but perhaps the right person would see the value.

According to most people here, any mod knocks your value down to about ten dollars.

Price it what you think is fair, and see where it goes.

My car has <20k on it and people were valuing it pretty much the same as yours...so, that should tell you something.

Yes, I've seen some people throwing around lowball numbers. I just ask myself what else I could get for the money....not much.

Here's what I have noticed while trying to sell my 08 with 82k....

Every single offer is a ridiculous low ball offer of less than trade in value, more than likely low wholesale, I am not a dealer, I will keep the car before I sell it at that price....

And in most cases if you said that you would take their stupid offer, they would say that they are going to the bank and you will never here from them again!

Yep pretty much my experience selling cars on bimmerpost. Then after about 100 of these you get one real buyer who offers fair value and has money.
