As a potential buyer, Im sure you do think its worth $25k. The E90 market is flooded with buyers who want a rare spec E90 for the price of a run of mill spec. Not trying to sound like a dick here but the OP should hold out and I will do the same for my sale.

it's your right to hold on as long as you want. however this isn't a rare spec. E90 M3s are pretty common. a high mileage one is a huge drawback considering the rod bearing issue. but again, at the end of the day the market will speak for itself. the car has been on sale for 6 months and hasn't sold. that should tell you something about what it's worth. good luck

This isn't just an E90 M3. Melbourne Red+6 speed+Competition Package equals rare of the rare. Remove that and yes, its a regular E90 M3 that should sell for mid $20s. The rod bearing issue is there regardless of the mileage. Unless the seller has done them in ANY E9x M3, its an issue.

The market has gone soft on E90s, there's no doubt about that. But whats really happening is people now think because a once $30k E90 a year ago is going for $26-28k and think a rare spec E90, which this is without a doubt is, should be bought for the same.

Agreed! The market will speak for itself if a car is overpriced or not.

How anyone thinks this forum dictates the market is beyond me. If it were for sale aggressively on all the common sites and not selling, we could come to that conclusion. His price isn't far off. This delusional, want everything for a deal mindset is

I honestly think you are likely to get higher than market value on this forum b/c enthusiasts would be willing to pay a premium for preventative maint (RBs), extensive maint records, tasteful mods, lower miles, etc. I know those were major factors in my recent purchase decision.

This car is probably my #1 M3 preference re spec... so I hope the seller gets his car sold for a good price and I see no point in disparaging him re price if that is what he thinks it is worth.

Thats what I thought to. Ive received more traction on the car OFF this forum, than on. Now, whether that traction is a sale or not is the point but Id rather have inquiries than nothing at all.

Another thing that is working against you guys is the KBB value of these cars doesn't reflect what people are willing to pay so it makes getting a loan harder and harder as these cars age.

My bank would only loan 85% of KBB so unless you are paying cash or have ~1/3 of the purchase price in cash, then it will make getting a loan for a $30k+ car more difficult for the average buyer.

Sorry to high jack your thread OP... GLWS.

I think your right put this car on autotrader and it's going to sell close to asking.

Listing here the forum is picky. Miles are a bit high. Now if it was no nav and a slicktop it already be gone to a forum member.

I will lower the price to $28,000 and put new rear tires on it. The car is worth 28k all day long. I am relocating to Michigan from North Carolina and would like to sell before I move this coming Spring.

This is a very rare spec, anyone who thinks it isn't should do some research.

Not to hijack your thread or go off topic but a few posts ago you said your car is worth 28k all day long.

Now your listing price is 27.5k. I don't think it matter what anyone but the market thinks regardless of what you think you have. Doesn't matter if it's special spec, that spec needs to be special to the market and it shows from the time it's been up that the MV of this car isn't what you think (given the mileage).

If you hold onto it long enough you may get what you want if say... the spec you have becomes irresistible and has zero sensitivity toward mileage.

I don't disagree with this. The market is a bit softer for these cars right now. I don't think you're wrong at all.
