It’s an upgrade to the CCC/CIC system. It integrates an android based tablet in the stock screen location all while retaining the stock features and menus. https://avinusa.com/8-8-bmw-3-series...on-system.html

Not sure why more people aren’t going this route instead of NBT...

Dash Pulled apart awaiting my delivery...

Once I have it all working I will try and post a DIY on it and provide some feedback as I use it some. It will be in the car this Sunday’s run for those that want to see it first hand!! (Hopefully it doesn’t suck! Lol)

if anyone is feeling indulgent, there is an Alliance gas station just of the Chesebro exit going north on the 101 (get off, go right, right again) that sells 100 octane race gas. Pricey, but a 50/50 mix with 91 seems to make a noticeable difference

You can but your car would run like crap.

First Octane is the fuels ability to resist ignition due to high pressure. The higher the octane the more pressure it can handle before self ignition.

Octane and engine compression ration go hand in hand. The Higher the compression an engine has the higher the octane you need. There is an optimal octane for any given engine and in most cases following the MFG’s recommendation is your best bet. I.E. most Honda’s fall in the 8-9 to 1 compression ratio, these engines don’t produce very high pressures and using a lower octane fuel is better suited for these applications. Contrary to popular belief 91 octane is actually bad for these low compression engine and can hurt performance.

Now with our cars we have a much higher compression ration of 12 to 1. This means that, with a low octane fuel, the amount of pressure the engine creates would actually cause the fuel to ignite before the spark plug ever fired. This is very bad and can cause catastrophic engine failure. Which is why you NEVER put anything less than 91 in your ///M. Now with that said here in Cali 91 is as good as it gets, and our cars actually have to detune themselves to make up for our chitty fuel. I’m guessing 93-96 would be optimal for our engines based off the 12 to 1 compression. Which is why Zipper says a 50/50 mix makes her purr!!

(Sorry long post, I’m an engine builder )

What tune are you running Zipper? Did you notice a difference? Any dyno results?

(Just checked your links Zipper, good information!)

Mine has Gintani, which it had when I bought the car and I've never driven it without. Previous owner spoke highly of the improvement over stock though. Their website claims improvements of +20-25 WHP / +15-20 WTQ but I have never dyno'd so can't back that up myself

I've had a great experience with Gintani so far. Got about 500+ miles on it now. Went from stock to catless + MS filter + gintani tune, the car is a completely different beast.

Purely butt dyno, but it feels so much more raw now and wants to roast tires way easier in anything south of 4th.

I bought as part of their group buy a month or so back. $650 out the door in 15 minutes, I just swung past their store for the install.

X-pipe and filter was from EAS, I think like $1,400 for both including tax and labor.
