Garage List
Too much mental arithmetic?

It won't help at U.K. petrol stations (where we buy fuel in litres before counting miles), but anyway:

How long did your Run-in-period take? More than 2.000km?

Best regards, south

Best regards, south
according to the handbook...:
up to 2000 km varying the trips between city, normal road, some highway and some mountains (close to the final part of the first 2.000 km). No more than 170 km-h
from 2000 to 3000: I increased but never to the maximum rpm. I would say I made many tests up to 7-7300 rpm
from 3000km I started to test the 8.000 rpm few times and carefully.
from 3.200km I tested few times the maximum rpm. I would say that the cars needed this too...not only me...
Now I will arrive to the first 5.000 km and probably I will test in Germany coming back to Italy high speed a couple of time. That's all for my first running period. I hope she will have received a good treatment...
I am used after several years with Audi S4 to be carefull with the trhottle. I would say after this first period of life of my car that if my past Audi had an average consumption ( I checked always every 10.000 km) of 13,4 lt for 100-km, this new M3 will butn no more than 12,5-12,6 lt for 100km in the same consition of use (my personal needs and trips).

What I meant was: How many km did you run before the bord computer said: "Oil service"?

Best regards, south

There was no indication of oil service. I left the car to the service at about 1960-1970 km. And I had not any indication in that way..Probably it happens exactly at 2000km.

I am sitting at around 19.5 l/100km for around town use. It reminds me of my E60m5 in the fuel consumption stakes :S

Dazzler do you sit on the accelerator or are you just really heavy footed ?

Sorry for this spontaneous blurb, I just got a bit of a shock...
